Hello hivers, hope y'all are doing good, cos I'm doing great this lovely Sunday.
I loved the cool weather so I got that tingling feeling to wip out my pen and put some ink on something and that's when I captured the gaze of this pretty lady across the street.
It felt like a good opportunity to try out what I've been learning from Loomis book on drawing the human head.
Anyways, before I tell you more about it, how about I drop a few details?!.. cool yeah?!
Title: Lady with the scarf
Medium: pen, pencil and paper
Size: A4
Technique: Loomis method and cross hatching
Duration: 2hrs
Below are my Work in progress pics
Ps: I made a video, I'll be uploading on 3peaks soon
So.. according to Loomis, a good section of the human head is a circle, when you're staring at it from a point.
So once that's been established, you have to understand that the distance from the brows and the hairline are as equal as the distance between the brows and the base of the nose, same applies to the nose and the lips
So after establishing my sketch, I decided to shade on it with my ballpen, cross hatching technique.. I made some parallel lines in a rhythmical flow towards one direction, then repeat the same on the section in another direction, this was repeated based on how dark I wanted the shaded section to be.
And that would be it for today.
Thanks for checking this out, let me know what you think in the comments section, if you've got ideas to share with me, I'm down to listen.
Enjoy your day/evening.
