Hello dear friends of Hive and Sketchbook!!
Today I share with you this little friend. It is a little speck of smoke debris that came to life! It lived in a chimney, which was in one of the very few houses that can be found in the forest.
This little fellow has left that house, on his way to one of his missions... to deliver the valuable contents of his suitcase. Some papers that may change the world.
I hope you like this process! And enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed creating this little friend.

En el día de hoy les comparto a este pequeño amigo. Se trata de una pequeña mota de restos de humo que cobró vida! Habitaba en una chimenea, que se encontraba en una de las muy pocas casas que se pueden encontrar en el bosque.
Este pequeño amigo a salido de aquella casa, en marcha a una de sus misiones… entregar el valioso contenido que se encuentra en su maleta. Unos papeles que puede que cambie al mundo.
Espero les pueda gustar este proceso! Y lo disfruten tanto como yo he disfrutado creando a este pequeño gran amigo.
The first thing I was doing was the sketch. For this I used the Lapiz 6B in a slightly copper color.
I found this character so cute. When I finished the first sketch I felt that it was still missing some things, and then I thought about adding the briefcase with the big mystery inside it.
Lo primero que estuve realizando fue el boceto. Para ello utilice el Lapiz 6B en un color un poco cobrizo.
Este personaje me pareció tan tierno. Al terminar el primer boceto sentí que aún le faltaban algunas cosas, y luego pensé en agregarle el maletín con el gran misterio dentro de él.
Then I lowered the opacity to 50% to be able to make the second sketch, which will be the final decision before starting to color it.
I also made it with the Lapiz 6B.
I really liked this last result. When imagining the colors that would go in it, I thought that it should have a background... because our friend was coming out of a very dark forest. So I thought about making a background and sketching the ground so that it wouldn't be floating.
Luego le baje la opacidad al 50% para poder realizar el segundo boceto, el cual será la decisión final antes de empezar a colorearlo.
También lo realice con el Lapiz 6B
Me gusto mucho ese último resultado. Al imaginar los colores que irían en el, pensé que debería tener un fondo… pues nuestro amigo estaba saliendo de un bosque muy oscuro. Entonces pensé en hacerle un fondo y realizar el boceto del suelo para que no quedase flotando.
Now I will start painting!
The first thing I did was to choose the right colors for this illustration. As always I like warm colors so I went that way.
After adding the flat colors, I started with the actual painting. For this I used the Crayon and Crayon brushes.
Ahora si empezaré con el pintado!
Para ello lo primero que hice fue el elegir los colores adecuados para esta ilustración. Como siempre me gustan muchos los colores cálidos así que me fui por allí.
Después de agregar los colores planos, comencé con el verdadero pintado. Para ello utilice los pinceles de Acuarela y Crayón
After finishing the painting I started with the background.
I was trying various colors and layering modes in order to get the most flattering result.
Después de haber terminado con El pintado comencé con el fondo.
Estuve probando varios colores y modos de capas para poder obtener el resultado más favorecedor.
After defining the colors of both the character and the background. I started to make the floor. That floor had to be made of stone, because it was the beginning of the path of that castle that was at the end of the road.
First I applied the flat colors and then I added some shadows and texture.
Luego de definir los colores tanto del personaje como el del fondo. Empecé a realizar el suelo. Aquel suelo tenía que ser de piedra, pues era el inicio del camino de aquel castillo que se encontraba al final del camino.
Primero aplique los colores planos y luego le añadí algo de sombra y textura.
I will start with the illuminations. These will be very slight since it is a light that comes from very far away, and which indicates that it has already left that forest.
For this I will use yellow and orange tones.
The first thing I will do will be to add with the brush Crayon 6B Compressed a layer for the face of the character and the details of the trunk, and with the overexpose function of the layer modes... it will change the tone and it will be merged to the character (I will be showing it in an image)
Comenzaré con las iluminaciones. Estas serán muy leves ya que es una luz que proviene de muy lejos, y el cual indica que ya ha salido de aquel bosque.
Para ello utilizaré tonos amarillos y naranjas.
Lo primero que haré será agregar con el pincel Crayon 6B Comprimido una capa por el rostro del personaje y los detalles del maletero, y con la función de sobreexponerse de los modos de capa… cambiará el tono y se fusionará al personaje (lo estaré mostrando en una imagen)
We are already in the final part.
I have been retouching some colors, adding more vividness in the tones and more textures by implementing the brushes mentioned above.
Next I will add the background. Something simpler but that gives to understand the concept of the illustration, all this in order not to take away the protagonism of the character.
With the crayon brush, add some trees in triangle shape with some texture. Then I adjusted the tones so that everything together would merge and give a single scene.
Ya estamos en la parte final.
Estuve retocando algunos colores, añadiéndoles más viveza en los tonos y más texturas implementando los pinceles mencionados anteriormente.
A continuación agregaré el fondo. Algo más sencillo pero que dé a entender el concepto de la ilustración, todo esto para no quitarle protagonismo a el personaje.
Con el pincel de crayón, agregue algunos árboles en forma de triangulo con algo de textura. Luego ajuste los tonos para que todo junto de fusionara y diera una sola escena.
