Artists' book (oil and ink on paper)

in #hive-17430111 months ago

An happy Sunday to you all!
Today I woke up in the morning with an idea in my mind: to work on a new, small, artist's book! An artists' book (or book arts or fanzine) is a sort of artwork in form of book. It can be one of a kind book or a limited edition book, it can be made using different kind of paper, different kind of style and techniques, different shapes. I think is an interesting way to explore our creativity in a free way and also something nice to have in our hand. ^_^

For this one I used a simple cardboard for the cover and 100 gsm paper for the pages. To paint it I used oil colors in the shades of brown, white ink, brushes and a simple leaf I had in my backyard.

In the following pics, you can see the final result:

The sentence I wrote on the cover is "Vivere secondo la propria natura" and in italian means "to live according to our own nature". I chose this sentence because the word "nature" that reminds to the leaves and to the human nature. ^_^
In the following pics you can see a part of the process to make it:

I'll work on some other similar artists' book using different leaves, so I'll have a limited edition of them. ^_^

I hope you like it!
See ya soon and stay safe,
Silvia
