Time to try a new material for my tiny houses!

An happy Sunday to all hivers here! Now the sky over my city is full of dark clouds and I'm crossing my finger for some rain after a lot of very hot days!

Today I'm here to share with you my recent "experiment". Since some months I feel the need to try new materials for my artworks, especially formy small sculptures. One of my friend who is an artist I love so much, a couple of years ago told me about his work with cement and I was very intrigued by it. Cement is an interesting materials for me, because I like to observe the shades of colors on the wall with the sign of the time and the weather and also because Ilike to work around the theme of "home/house" and so I decided to try!

In the following pic you can see the final result of the first "prototype":

It was my first time with cement, but my hubby @paolobeneforti guided me on how to do it.
At first I made the wooden shape in form of an house and after I put a mix of cement, water and sand inside inside of it:

When the cement was dried enough I started to use my colors on the little cement house (it's tall around 10 cm):

I painted just one side of the house and it reminds me an house with a murales. ^^
At the end, I can say I'm satisfied by the result, I like how the colors work on the cement and I like also the side where I didn't paint anything, so I'll create some other similar ones to make a sort of village. ^

See ya soon and stay safe,
Silvia

I love how your husband encouraged you to do it with cement
It looks good
Keep it up!

My hubby teached me a lot of things about art and I really have to thanks him. ❤️

So much fun to work with cement, the result is so concrete. They are so adorable your creations!

Thanks! I'm satisfied by the prototype and so I'm working on some new little "freaky houses" in cement. ^_^
