It's very sad and painful to say my previous post about my school being on strike Here is the post hasn't been resolved yet.And the strike is over 4 months now😪😪.
Now the students are getting concerned about the educational section of the nation, cause it is looking like the government doesn't care anymore. While the educational sector should be one of the sectors treated with the most priority, it's looking like the reverse is the case here.
While ASSU(Academic staff Union of universities) should be in the for -front helping the students work out the pending issue, it's looking like they are stalling. And now students with 4-year courses end up using 5, while those with 5 end up using 6 to 7, unnecessary time has been added to student's life. Those who have plans for the future have had their plans tampered with.
And for those who try to pursue their future amidst the ongoing strike either lose interest in education and for those who still have an interest are faced with a bad environment for lectures, a lack of learning materials and some, lack of easy assimilation caused by been far away from a learning environment caused by the strikes.
That's the main reason why Nigeria is one of the most successful immigrants today, is because Nigerians so much believe in education. And an average family or below-average family tries everything in their power to sponsor their children to school yet, the country keeps throwing their hard work straight back to their faces. So, with any opportunity, to travel out of the nation we grab it and make use of it to the maximum.
Even though I am part of a few who still believe in the bright future of this nation Nigeria, if I see a scholarship abroad to further my studies in Electrical and Electronics Engineering I will gladly accept without thinking twice. Because my parents have tried their best to send me this far, and I won't allow the lack of administration of the government to make their effort go to waste, NO!!!!.
The currently ongoing strike, which is yet to be resolved, might be caused by the ongoing plans, campaign, and preparation of the whole nation for the next year's presidential election. So, most of the focus of the entire nation right now is just on the next election, cause with this election many things will be determined. And if the right cards are not played, we might end up pushing this crisis and pain more into the future and we don't want that.
Well, that's just my hypothesis though, but I hope this strike is suspended soon, and every student will get the chance to go back to school, learn and meet their friends again. And just so you know this strike is only affecting the Federal University and State University, while the private still goes to school. While we Federal University students just have to wait on the government🥺😢.
But I think if the Educational sector can be put in place and all the needed materials are provided and the standard of learning improves to the international level, Nigeria will have a great boost in its economy.
