Every ounce of effort you put into your work will eventually pay off. When things get tough, we may feel like giving up. These are the times when we must keep pushing till we attain victory. I'm a Midwife by profession, and it's a job I've always enjoyed, even before I had my education.
Helping to bring life into this world and saving lives has always been a passion of mine, and I will always spend time to doing additional work, taking on tasks that no one else is willing to take on, researching new trends and teaching my colleagues, and moving heaven and earth to get the job done.
I thought I was having a good time and doing my job as usual until I got a call from my nurse manager informing me that I had been nominated for best nurse-midwife in the district. I was both astonished and pleased by the nomination, and to God's glory, I received the award for Best Midwife of the Atwima Nwabigya District in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.
When I was called to receive the award in the form of citation or commendation in front of my colleagues, it was a huge honour for me. This is merely a piece of wood with a simple message explaining why I deserve the award, and while it is a small token of appreciation, the honor it bestowed upon me in front of my superiors and all of my colleagues meant a lot to me. It meant more than gold to me to be named the best midwife.
It tells me how much work I'm doing and how much effort I'm putting in. We have a lot of nurses in my department and to be chosen means they have really observed me and seen how I conduct my work. It reminded me of how my dedication and sacrifices to the job have finally paid off. I'm ecstatic about this accomplishment, and I know it's just the start of even bigger things to come. I've decided to tell everyone about the fantastic news, so please join me in my joy.
