When i am talking about cost of making a dress it means the time it takes you to make a dress, the money it costs you to finish the dress and your sacrifice just to make sure a dress is ready to be worn. Its not easy making it done. Seeing a ready-made had required a lot of effort before it’s been done.

Sometimes i wakes up in thinking nothing but just but ‘how do i make this wear or how do i complete e this dress?’ . If you wan to be a fashion designer, you have to be creative to bring up a concept. In any where you are making, there must be a concept of what you want to make , and from concept to pattern to sketch ✍️.

Perfection in the Making

Making a dress requires perfection, which start from when the measurement is been taken. For instance, when taking a measurement of a shoulder’ this has to pin from the right shoulder to the left shoulder or left shoulder shoulder to the right’ , in most cases the shoulder measurement should not be shortened backwards the neck and bot fallen excesses towards the sleeve. When taking a sleeve measurement measurement, it should start straight a way from where the shoulder stop ✋. In my upcoming posts, i will make a post explaining in full details how to take someone’s measurement for dress 👗.

Applying measurement to sketching

This another area where you have to be very careful and intelligent about , cause when you make a mistake in applying the measurement , automatically the dress is error. For instance when applying a shoulder measurement in sketching, normally a piece of materials is folded into two(2), so the measurement has to be divided into two, more-so sewing allowance has be added too.

Below ⬇️ is a photo of a dress i was making today (sky blue cashmere materials) which will show the illustration of a shoulder and how its been divided into two into two.

I will not be showing the finishing of this dress in this post , but maybe by God’s grace in my next post, i will be showing the picture of the dress when its been made. I only cut, sketched and cut down some cloths today, i would have loved to show one but do to financial constraint in the cost of sewing, I couldn’t do so. There was not electricity power supply today, so i had to buy fuel to the Generator , unfortunately it only served me for half a day😳.

Tailors are really trying, please put smile on our face😊 let keep the work going 💪✂️ , we clothes the world 🌎.

Thank you for taking your time to read my post. God bless you all❤️❤️

Hello @fashionsteemit. I see you're new on Hive, so let me drop you a few suggestions to help you navigate better on our platform.

We have different communities on Hive and we're encouraging users to post in the right community based on the topic of the post. This post for example would fit better in NeedleWorkMonday community.

OCD is for topics that don't fit in any other community and should be used when you don't find a niche community for your post.

Here's a guide I put together to help you learn about how communities work and why you should use them -> Communities Explained - Newbie Guide.

Once you posted your post in the right community, you can then cross post it to OCD community. Here's a guide about cross posting.

Please don't delete any post with the purpose of reposting it in another community as that can be considered abuse! Leave this post here, you'll get it right next time.

Thank so much @erikah, i really go your message , and i will go through it. Thanks once again for the help

You're welcome

I have checked and i have seen the right community for it ‘Needleworkmonday’ , is possible to repost it to the community?

The best way to find that out is to go to the community and check the rules, see if they accept reposts.
