To some of the hive friends and photographers who get inspired by the wildlife shots, today I bring you these photos I took in Queen Elizabeth national park, Kazinga channel. This is the best place to shoot the bathing elephants 🐘 🐘 hippos 🦏🦏 and many bird species mostly the kingfishers diving into the water 💦.
This is a hippo 🦛 that had come out of the water for a sunbathe. It is ranked among the big five animals of Africa, and an adult can weigh about 3300kgs. They live in a group known as a school and during mating seasons, they all gather and occupy one position closer to the main land.
Being the third largest land animal on earth 🌎 after the elephants and rhinos, these big giants are mostly comparable to the rhinos and said to fight for the same positions. They are vegetarians.
The largest land animal was from the water bathe and I captured him getting back, the elephant 🐘. The females are the leaders of the group and by flipping their huge trunks, and noise (trumpeting) they are able to communicate to each other Incase of danger of looking for mates.
Many self-drive tourists have faced the big challenge whenever they meet these huge souls crossing by, they absolutely and totally don't like anything noisy so when you see on of them and your engine is kept on, it's a war with the mafia. It's always advisable to switch off the engine and keep quiet whenever these giants are close by, this will absolutely give you unfortunately opportunity of photographing every beat of sight.
The last photo is of a woodland kingfisher that I captured in flight. They mostly live in the forest edges near by or with no water.
