HELLO EVERYONE!
Before starting my introductory post, to the person reading, I hope that this blog finds you well and enjoying your day, continue doing your best!
Hi! I go by the nickname iamscinttwister, an individual with lots of hobbies, flexible skills and different interests. I am currently studying Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering here in the Philippines with a plan to focus on renewable energy and the development of electric vehicles. Why? Well, with the increasing environmental issues with carbon immision as one of the main culprit, that are emitted by power-plants and the vehicles we use, my ultimate plan as a future engineer is to contribute in inventions and innovations that creates a bridge between renewable energy and electric vehicles to help reduce, if not solve, Environmental Degredation.
I am a proud mix of an otaku, gamer and a gymrat, I grew up (and still am) watching a lot of anime movies and series which helped me with developing my drawing/cartooning skills. The top 3 anime series that I would recommend are Naruto, DragonBallZ and One Piece. My life as a gamer started when I was still around 8 yrs old when my cousin introduced me to Metal Slug, I was so captivated by the action and thrill brought by the game leading me to explore more games with different varieties. Fast forward to 2019 when cases of CoVid19 started to spread around the world, as classes were beginning to get suspended and everyone was starting to have a difficult time. After things began to settle, it allowed the gymrat version of myself to bloom during this pandemic period but still the lock downs was on-going nationwide and online classes as were implemented. I took up the home workout 30-days 200/day push up challenge which had me getting on some small gains, before i had the opportunity to visit a formal gym.
During the pandemic, I had a lot of free time so I played a lot of mobile games like Mobile Legends with my relatives and this lead me to my first introduction to play to earn games when they told me that they were earning while having fun playing Axie Infinity. It had me so intrigued that this sort of games actually exist, unfortunately I failed to secure a slot in the scholarship program due to the lack of slots available because i was a bit late in applying. Saddened by the news, I took my time researching about nft's and play to earn games to which I arrived at MIR4, my first free-to-play and play-to-earn MMORPG that allows players to battle monsters, raid bosses and mine cryptocurrency, my problem with this particular game is that overtime, bots were beginning to be a nuisance in the game and caused a lot of negative impacts to the gaming-earning experiences.
The second free-to-play and play-to-earn game that I came across with, after leaving MIR4, is GODS UNCHAINED. This is a digital trading card game that allow players to battle and earn through their tokens and by selling cards. With similar problem with MIR4, bots also began to take over the game and affecting the gaming-earning experience which was an immediate turn off causing me to leave the game the following weeks.
How did I end up knowing about HIVE? Well, it is all thanks to my friend Zactian that was playing SPLINTERNALDS and is also into blogging, here in hive. He helped me with setting up my account as well as giving me advice and answering my questions as a newbie, such as communities I can follow and rules I need to remember. A huge shout out to you bro. My first impression about HIVE is that it is very accommodating towards its users/members, giving them importance, appreciation and the various communities here allows you to delve into endless topics and trends.
For me, today marks the beginning of a whole new journey and a whole new exposure that would hopefully allow me to grow and give me opportunities to contribute in various communities in the future. I take criticism as a chance to further develop myself, so please don't hold back if you see any errors in my blogs. I hope that my stay here will provide me with great insights as well as new skills that i can apply in the real world. Thank very much for the time you've given in reading this blog, much appreciated!
