Hello Hive Friends, how are you? I am back with another post. I hadn't posted a single post in last 4 days. I am Covid positive. That's why I took a rest. I am vaccinated, Thank god.
I traveled to Indonesia in 2017. Today I will share what I found and its history.
Let's move on the story
Mount Bromo- derived from the name of the god, Brahma-offers views that match its fascinating history. The volcano has long senved as a holy place for local Javanese Hindus. Some of them still throw living livestock (among other things) into the volcanic crater as offerings to the Gods. Interestingly, sometimes there are people waiting near the bottom of the crater to catch these sacrificial animals with nets to eat/sell them. If this sounds too crazy to be true, google it.
My favorite part: some worshippers left cups of coffee and cigarettes next to this statue of Ganesha (the Hindu god of wisdom) at the top of the volcano to appease him and prevent further volcanic eruptions.
