Working a gig for a local charity
Recently, I had the opportunity to work for a friend of mine filming for his non profit charity fundraiser. His name is Shamus and he is the President of the "League of Enchantment." I have known him since grade school, and when he was a young man, he was driving a car that struck and killed a child. It was an accident, but it still affected him deeply. As an avid comic book fan, he was into doing cosplay, dressing up like the comic book characters he enjoyed. One day, him and a friend hit on the idea of going to children's hospitals dressed in their costumes and just brining some joy to the sick kids. And just like that, the League of Enchantment was born!

Getting back together...
Several years ago when I was still in school and working at the college radio station, Shamus and his now wife, Katie, came in to promote the L.o.E. I had been friends with him on Facebook, but had not really spoke to him since school many years before. We struck up a friendship, and since then, I have been his go to for a videographer for events. Last year, I got to film his wedding, billed as the "Wonderbat Wedding" at the Lansing Comic Con. The name came from him being known as the "Lansing Batman" and Katie being the "Lansing Wonder Woman..."

Going Nationwide...
It did not take long for the L.o.E. idea to catch on. Shamus and the crew go to comic cons and hospitals all over, and before too long, other areas started their own chapters. Now, they have one in Chicago, and several other cities nationwide. They have gotten a lot of press for what they do and their fundraisers are top notch. As you will see from the photos, they get donations from some very big names...
