Hello hive
My name is pinkbeee, I hail from a family of eight and I am the second born. I grew up in one of the most beautiful cities in Nigeria, Port Harcourt City to be precise, also known as The Garden City. We lived a stone throw from the river bank (waterside) at Elelenwo.
The little beginnings...
Growing up as a child, I had phobia for so many things, I wasn't the social type, so I hardly played or interacted with other kids even at Nursery school, not until when I went to High School, I became a bit social most especially for the fact that most of my High School mates loved associating themselves with me because I was one of the brilliant students, even when I first tried pushing them away and now here am in the Higher Institution.
After my High School, I travelled to one of the Northern States in Nigeria, Kano State to be precise, where I lived with my aunt, who owned a big restaurant at Sabon Gari where I assisted her greatly in running the restaurant. I cooked most Nigerian continental dishes like; ekpang, egusi soup, oha, afang, edikaikong and ogbono soup, which was really loved and consumed by most customers. My stay in the Northern part of Nigeria was a great one, as I enjoyed the surplus in food, meat, sugar cane, dates, nuts like; (groundnuts, tiger nut, cashew nuts and almonds, etc.) and local drinks like kunu aya and koko. I also enjoyed one of the Northern Local foods known as garo-garo, tuwo masara and tuwo shinkafa but greatly disliked one of their foods popularly known as mia-nkuka simply because I saw a woman using a broom to turn the soup while she was cooking it.
However, my stay in the North was interrupted by the frequent crisis between the Hausas and the Igbos, which led to blood sheds of innocent people. Another factor that interrupted my stay was the frequent bomb blasts in Churches and Motor parks.
For instance, one Sunday morning, I was to worship at the Headquarters of a Roman Catholic Church for morning Mass, but was feeling so uneasy and decided not to go to Church that morning and news reaching me later, which I also went to witness, was that there was a heavy bomb blast which claimed many lives and properties in the Church. It was reported that the bomb was actually planted in the church during the early hours of Sunday morning. The Presidential election was fast approaching and I had to travel back to the South, precisely Akwa Ibom, my hometown, in February, 2015, as the sounds of little drums of crisis began to be beaten by the Northerners in that part of the country.
Back Home
On my arrival to my hometown, I was greatly welcomed by my parents and siblings and was thrown a little welcome party. Life generally wasn't going really well for me as I had expected and also I couldn't get most necessities I needed from my parents which prompted me to take on a job.
I began my search for a job in April, 2015, of which I was lucky enough to get one, a position to work as a Litigation Clerk in a Law Firm, where I work till date. My duty is to prepare legal documents used by Legal Practitioners in Courts according to the legal mode of practice here in Nigeria. I understand my job as a Litigation Clerk and have been interpreting the same judiciously.
Subsequently, my parents relocated to a remote village, so I could no longer live with them because of the distance to my place of work. I relocated from their house and went to live with my grandma who is a very hard puzzle to play
Apart from living an official and boring life, I go out on dates, but surprisingly don't have a boyfriend🙄. I also love carrying out new experiments in the kitchen, like trying out new kinds of meals, and I call them delicious concoctions. Seriously, I love food😁. Because of my love for food, my siblings nicknamed me 'food basket'.
My hobbies?
woah! I love reading, especially old books. Reading expands my horizons. I also love singing, especially Hill songs and dancing mostly to the beats and rhythms of my local musics. I also enjoy watching fishermen fish, but I miss that many times due to the fact that I no longer live close to the waterside again, but I often pay my way down to a beach known as Nwaniba fishing pool, situated in my locality, in order for me to watch the beautiful act of fishing. I also love writing most especially legal documents. Finally, I love eating eba and soup, which are my favorites.
I am glad to be here now, this is going to be a whole new experience for me, I hope for the best throughout my journey.
