A morning walk around the local reservoir always refreshes you. The flat path that circles the water offers a scenic route for walkers, joggers and birdwarchers alike.
This particular morning, the weather was overcast again, but at least it was dry. However, some areas along the paths can get quite muddy due to recent rainfall. Sturdy shoes are essential to walk through these slippery spots.
One of the highlights of visiting the reservoir is feeding the birds. I always bring bird seed to sprinkle on the small tables placed around the area.
These feeding stations attract various birds, blackbirds, blue tits but the robins are especially fond of the seeds. It doesn’t take long for them to swoop down, gathering the food.
As the weather gets colder, the cygnets , often swim over to visitors in search of food. Fortunately, many people enjoy spending time by the water, especially in the crisp winter months, so these vistors provide a regular source of food for the swans.
The sun finally peeked through the clouds over the reservoir, creating a lovely scene over the water. Time to go home for a nice hot cup of coffee.
