#LIL: Scenes From Life for the LMAC Gallery

in #hive-1746952 months ago

The theme of my pictures this week is family. All the photos shown here were taken by family, for family, at family events. There is a hodgepodge selection.

We haven't had a baby in the house for almost twenty years. My only grandchild was born almost twenty years ago. All the dog photos are a reflection of our delight in having once again a baby in the house. The new family member is a beautiful, though slightly unruly puppy. Perhaps that is the definition of puppy: unruly.

Here is a picture of a not-so-young family member--the cat. This most senior citizen is 16. According to one website, that's 80 in human years.

A couple of cat pictures pepper the selection today, also.

Back to the puppy: one issue that has been the subject of debate since we adopted him is, will the ears be floppy or will they stand straight up? This final ear pose is settled by the time a dog is six months old. Ours was six months on September 1.

If the dog's Labrador/golden retriever heritage prevails, the ears will be floppy. If his husky heritage prevails, they will stand up.

I think you can see from these pictures that both ear postures are evident. This dog has not taken a definitive ear stand. Sometimes the ears are floppy. Sometimes they stand up. More commonly, the dog splits the difference. One ear goes up and the other flops. You can see that in many of the pictures posted here.

One up, one down is my favorite pose. He looks that way.

In today's photo collection you will also see pictures from other recent happenings in my family. Some of these were taken when my daughter and granddaughter traveled to Europe. My granddaughter is attending a semester abroad, and elected also to take a summer cultural orientation program. The pictures from that trip were taken in London, and on the Isle of Man.

My daughter and granddaughter sent me pictures so I could 'travel' with them, and so I can post the pictures on Hive. They know I love new, interesting pictures for my blogs.

Besides those pictures, you'll see a few that were taken locally. Some were taken at the Planting Fields and Arboretum. My husband and I visited there this summer. Others were taken at Sagamore Hill, the state park that was once the residence of U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt. My daughter and I visited there with the puppy recently.

Finally, you will see the night photo of a mushroom that was growing in our side yard, at home. The mushroom looks eerie, almost alien. I think the picture came out really cool.

A few of the pictures posted today appeared on other blogs I wrote. However, now these will be included in LMAC's #LIL Gallery. Once the photos are in the Gallery, they will be in the public domain. As such, the pictures will be free for anyone on Hive to use.

About #LIL

LIL is a unique Hive resource generated by the LMAC community. It is the brainchild of @shaka and @quantumg. There are over 14,000 images in the gallery now. Anyone on Hive can contribute to it, and anyone can borrow from it. Procedure for borrowing and contributing are spelled out in this founding blog by @shaka.

A final note about LMAC: this community opens up art to people of all skill levels. I've never had a talent for expressing myself through the visual arts, but in LMAC I can pretend that I have talent. We welcome all to come and try a hand at creating a collage. Participants can join in one of our contests, or they can merely freestyle and create a collage from their own creative urge. I highly recommend the exercise for getting the creative juices flowing.

I hope readers enjoy the pictures I've posted here today.

Thank you for reading my blog. Hive on!

My dog has those kind of ears too
One leg floppy and the other up.

It's kind of comical and cute, which is in contrast to her troublesome character 😂😂😂

😂

You will have to post pictures. Sounds like quite a character.

All photos are beautiful, Nice pets

Thank you, @momins

Really cute one, I am sure he will bring joy and inspire the upcoming colages!

I can't get enough of your kitten. Those ears, thoughtful countenance, and classy fur. 😸

My husband agrees with you. That cat rules. He can have anything he wants. If he's in front of the closet door, we wait until he moves. Nobody bothers him to open the door.

And, he is brilliant, as intelligent as he looks. I am convinced he has a game plan, all the time. 😄

Haha! Clever and spoiled! 😺
