At a place far away, in the clouds above the deep blue sky, one may find Bear Kingdom. There, bears behave in ways humans might consider surprising, because bears keep their customs secret from prying eyes. Intruders are never welcome.
Imagine the consternation, then, when the Three Bear family--Mama Bear, Papa Bear, and Baby Bear--found someone had been eating their porridge. Sitting in their chair. Sleeping in their bed!
This intrusion caused quite a stir in Bear Kingdom. A rare Bear Council was called. Bear leaders from great distances gathered to contemplate the remarkable event. Black Bear family from the remote West made its way to the cabin of the Three Bears. Gentle Teddy Bear floated in on his hot air balloon from his domain among the clouds. And fierce Brown Bear traveled the ether in a canoe.
It was an emergency convocation of the Bear Council. Whatever these leaders decided would have consequences for all in Bear Realm.
The Proclamation is awaited with bated breath.
LMAC Begins a New Contest Season
Let me begin this introduction with the word fun. The greatest reason for engaging in the contest is fun, as you can see I have had this week with my collage. However, for those of you who like to compete, the contest offers some really attractive prizes, three of them. First place: 45 Hive. Second place: 35 Hive. Third place: 20 Hive. But even if you don't win a prize, throughout the month the contest runs, your collages are curated and you earn Hive through the curation.
Fun. Prizes. Curation. Do you need more reasons to participate in the LMAC collage contest? I participate and I can't even win a prize (because I'm on the jury). For me, being part of the community, receiving feedback, applauding the work of others and, most importantly, making a collage is more than enough reward.
Every month the community is presented with a template image. From that image contestants are expected to make an original collage, using only elements from our LIL Gallery, our White List, or from their own personal albums.
This month the template image, by @shaka, is irresistible:
The contest announcement, with rules, may be found here.
If you need inspiration, or want to get an idea of what others do, you can always check out our community feed here. Of course these collages are only for inspiration. You will certainly come up with your own ideas.
My Collage Process
First I had to remove all signs of human existence from the image. I replaced the humans with bears.
Then I had to find a cabin, three bears (from the Goldilocks story), and put the bears in the cabin.
I the needed a balloon, and I wanted to make the balloon look fantastical. I put the bear in the balloon.
I was ready at this point to begin adding pieces to @shaka's template
The Ursa Minor Constellation (up in the left side of the sky) and the comet were afterthoughts. The sky was just too empty and the collage was not lively enough. Here is approximately how my process progressed.
I thank those who contributed images to my collage and allowed me to realize my idea. First among these contributors are Hive bloggers who gave photos to the LIL Gallery:

LIL
Anyone on Hive can borrow from LIL, the LMAC Image Library. Anyone on Hive may contribute to LIL. Once pictures are contributed they are in the public domain. The pictures must be original. That is, they must be yours. Instructions for borrowing and contributing may be found in @shaka's blog, here.
Thank you for reading my blog. I hope you found my little fantasy entertaining. I'm looking forward to reviewing new collages as they come. Please remember, contributors do not have to enter the contest to make a collage. We welcome freestyles throughout the year.
Peace and health to all my readers.
