Study Tips From Abenad Einstein

Shoutout to all those who can study at night, burn midnight candles and all because it can never be me. I tried it not once, not twice but probably all my years of being a student and not even once did it work. The moment I cannot see sunlight, my brain decides for me that “hey, enough is enough! Let me rest”.

The first time I tried studying at night, I did some mediocre studies in the first hour and then for the next two hours, I found myself smiling at my wall. In my head, I was walking to the altar to meet my future husband and it was really a beautiful sight to behold. The second time, I ended up sleeping in the morning and then woke up around 4pm like a zombie with a terrible headache.

The third time I tried studying at dawn? Hmm, I ended up waking up my roommate to ask her if she could also see batman in the room. Knowing this about me and how I have a photographic memory as @hopestylist would say, I make sure to make hay whiles the sun shines (literally) because I have just until sunset to optimize my brain whether as a student or worker.

The number one thing I do anytime I have to study is to make sure I have a very well drawn out time table for whatever I have to study. From reading, to solving questions to taking breaks to engaging in conversations. I remember how one of my study time tables even had “check up on baby”. For how it got there, that’s a story for another day.

The second thing to do is to pick the location. During my first degree, my study location was the library for the obvious reasons. Let me skip to the important part. I always make sure to eat well and stay hydrated before attempting to study in the first place because hunger has no business with a focused mind. I mean you could try studying with hunger but trust me, you might either fail, faint or get frustrated. Whichever way, there will be an “f”.

Most people don’t pay attention to their bodies and brains when they are studying. I learned this the hard way but if you ever feel tired or feel like your brain is full, just rest. Sleep, take a walk, play games, call babe. If you don’t have babe, laugh about your bad character that is not making you have babe. Do what you have to do to get the stress off you.

Before I leave, let me share this gem to anyone who might need it. As a student, the best thing you could do to yourself and your brain is to study as you go. Don’t wait till the last minute before you try studying about 7 courses in 2 weeks. You’re not Rambo. Even if it’s one page per day make sure you do that from the first day of class and trust me, you’ll be happy.

Na that last minute d always sweet me to read ooooo
....
Nothing were you go tell me, I AM RAMBO

Ah?🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

after reading this, I still know I won't follow your advice lol

I usually read a few days before the exam and sometimes it would be a day before the exam, the book doesn't enter my head when there is no exam around the corner, i know it is a bad habit but am addicted to it

A day before the exams???
No no, you’re a legend 😂

Even if it’s one page per day make sure you do that from the first day of class and trust me, you’ll be happy.

Me, I almost beat one lecturer in the end o

Huh?🤣

@depressedfuckup you better keep it goinggggg!😂

🏃‍♀️😂

Ey🤣

Oya Oya I know that last advice was to hopestylist, I will pass the message to her 🌚.

For real, it’s always good to stay hydrated and well feed before attempting to read, although some people can go without it but that is not advisable at all.

🤣🤣🤣 Pass it to her. Please say it with a microphone so she hears you very well.

Okay Ma 😂😂😂

😹😹 I listen to my body ooo, if I don't sleep first and wake up nothing will enter my head if I try to read 😂

Yeahhh, that’s so true 😂

All you have said is true, many wait till that last minute , some read an hour to their exams, of which, many of them get good grades and still able to defend it anytime and where they go. What would you say about these kind of persons?

An hour before the exams?
So that’s chew and pour?
Such people fumble at application questions.

That's just the truth.

If you don’t have babe, laugh about your bad character that is not making you have babe. Do what you have to do to get the stress off you.

🤣🤣🤣🤣, This got me laughing hard.

Well everyone has their strategy of reading, like you said, pay attention to your body and you'll know what strategy to use.

I targeted @bipolar95 whiles saying this🤣🤣, let me run away🤣🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Yeah, you have to pay attention to your body
Thank you Amieeee☺️

You will be hearing from my lawyers.

🤣

I have really suffered in this my life 😂🤣😂

Is not small suffer oo🤣🤣

I burn a lot of midnight candles, and they worked for me. But if I didn't burn them as frequently and did what you're advising instead, I'm certain I would've done a lot better than I did in undergrad.

Anyways, that is a lesson well learnt, and I'll definitely be changing if I ever have the "student" label again.

Okay, that’s happening soon then

It is? How so?

See if you want to shade me, tag me... Talk to me directly and stop cutting corners.

Because what's this indirect speech???

I am a night reader, during exams I do not eat till whenever my papers are over.

I will not study everyday until 7 days to exam, I will be going to class at night to read till dawn.

And for the study routine? I don't have.

Congratulations 👏🏿 👏🏿 🎉 🎉 🎉 you have succeeded in bringing my life to the public because I don't have man....

Nice one.

I shall what? Equalize!

When I finally have man???

It is over for all of you.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I’m glad my tips have touched your heart🤣

Over for who? Me?
Someone that is getting married?🤣

I must say you and I are one in the studying spirit. I love reading during the day, especially early mornings.😌 My brain is a very active being during that period. I could never be caught in night class ohh.😂😂 Never ever.

Also, I love starting out early, by the beginning of semester, I would have started making notes ahead and all. Helps the memory.😊

I love your study tips.

That sounded like you were talking about my study life. We truly are alike in this regard.

Thank you☺️

A lot of us wait until last minute 😂, that pressure causes the brain to work faster.

Interesting 🤣
