Hi Everyone on Hiveghana Community,trust we are all good.. I so much appreciate the community admin and moderators for the wonderful topics so far. Today I will like to engage on the topic posted by the Community admin and moderators titled "MUSIC" (African or Western) .

Firstly, What is Music? Music is a ;
1)Language - It is a means of Communication (Through Verbal,Sound, Non Verbal E.t.c)
2)Culture - It is a way of life, an Identity

Music means alot to me,so I get to know that there are similarities and differences in music because the world is a mixture of different people, so based on our similarities and differences in Cultural background and languages ,there are also some differences and similarities in our music .

In the Gospel and Secular music industry there are many similarities between Africa and Western style of music,talking about the instrumental part,Lyrics,Message E.t.c

Here in my country Nigeria the most obvious differences between Africa music and Western music is the use of talking drum,we use taking drums often here in Nigeria churches though it is not all churches in Africa but most of the churches use it while the western musicians use the "Drums Set" as there major percussion

The other difference between Africa and western style of music is "Language" Language plays a major role in music, it is one of the major way to identify each other all around the world,when we listen to one music or the other we can easily identify the tribe or Country irrespective of the distance between each other

I am a Musician, a fusion drummer to be precised I really love to combine different types of music, I really love our music here in Africa and at the same time I love the western music, I can play any type of Genres in music
Based on our topic for this week, I will prefer the two,because of my profession in music (A Drummer). A Drummer must be versertile in music to be more successful, I notice I can be called anywhere at any time to come for a gig anywhere in Africa or Outside Nigeria, so from the scratch I pattern myself to all style of music which makes me to be confident anywhere I find myself.

From childhood I started listening to Africa and western music I will prefer the two style of music because I make both Africa and Western music, and this has really helped me in the Journey of music so far

Thanks to the Community Admin and Moderators for the wonderful topics so far.. Trust everyone has gain one thing or the other so far. DO HAVE A BLESSED WEEK EVERYONE

This is just cool, from a musician and an elite in the music world, I can't help but agree with you that both style are awesome and it's hard to pick one over the other.

I can't help but notice that you did not reference your image, it is your personal image though? If it is not then it is advisable to reference the source to give the necessary credit to the site or author.

Anyway you bring an interesting perspective to the topic of music, it was a good read
