I believe we have all heard so much about success and the different ways people have defined it. To everyone, achieving success has different meanings. If you ask me, I would say success is when you have accomplished a set goal or fulfilled a purpose. There have been many principles that people have shared as formulas they believe are a sure path to success.
From a personal life experience, I realized the first step towards achieving anything in life is to have in mind that nothing in life is easy. Having this in mind can completely change your approach to life. Preparing for life means having more than just mental readiness to go through whatever it takes for success.
My niece, who recently graduated from school, has been encountering challenges in her job search. After some unsuccessful interviews, she reached out to me feeling very discouraged, seeking solace in sharing her frustrations. While I empathized with her struggles, since I have been in similar situation before but then I also recognized this as a learning experience for her.
Throughout her upbringing, her mother and I have diligently provided for her needs, sparing her from numerous difficulties. However, now that she's facing the realities of job hunting as a young adult, she understandably finds herself overwhelmed by the obstacles she faces.
It's beneficial when life presents challenges, as they often provide valuable learning opportunities for future growth. While I could have continued supporting my niece financially like I did during her school years, I ultimately decided to allow her to face the realities of life and gain firsthand experience.
I'm happy to share that she persevered through the difficulties and successfully secured a job. Approaching life with the mindset that things don't happen until we make them happen can empower you to become a champion in any endeavor. While life presents its fair share of hardships, it can also be the greatest teacher. Often, the most impactful lessons are learned through navigating the challenges and realities of life.
Every successful person we admire has faced significant challenges in their journey. Overcoming hardships, including moments of despair, pain, and difficulty, is often an integral part of their success story. Unfortunately, we have a generation that appear unwilling to confront the challenges essential for personal growth and instead pursue only the simplest and quickest route.
However, true self-actualization, the full realization of our potential, I believe is only attained or achieved after we've gone though the many experiences life give and the great efforts we dedicate towards personal growth. Life is not easy, we must have that in mind. But the challenges we are able to overcome shape who we are and contribute significantly to our overall development.
