In this update, the current development of the Hive Borehole project will be shared. The work being carried out at present is focused on Phase 2, which was initiated subsequent to the completion of Phase 1. This phase entails the construction of the wall and the tower. The wall is being built to facilitate the hosting of taps and to provide an easily accessible means of obtaining water.
With the intention of public use, there will be installation of four taps, which will be capable of serving a significant number of individuals who will require access to the water. Furthermore, the construction of the tower will serve the purpose of providing a housing structure for the water tank, enabling the storage of a larger quantity of water for the community's use.
The wall construction has been done, and the tower has been successfully erected. Both structures now require a curing period to strengthen before further progress can be made. The construction process began with excavating the foundation, followed by installing plastic formworks to support the pillars.
The pillar construction will undergo multiple stages until reaching the desired height. After the pillar is fully erected and reinforced, the final task in this phase will involve constructing the tower deck or seat, which will serve as the base for the water tank. Once the tower is fully completed, the next crucial step will be installing pipelines to connect the borehole to the tank and taps.
Tiling the wall will mark the conclusion of Phase 2, enhancing the structure's appearance and giving it a new shape . We are determined to successfully conclude all the tasks within Phase 2, aiming to achieve this milestone by the end of this week. Once accomplished, we will proceed to the final phase, which signifies the end of the entire project.
The phase 3 will focus on media publicity, aiming to unveil the project and share the exciting news with people across Ghana and around the world, highlighting the positive impacts of Hive in Ghana. While the work is ongoing, we are diligently making preparations to ensure a successful launch of the project.
These remarkable advancements have been made possible through the exceptional teamwork and unwavering support from the Chanshegu community. The leaders of Chanshegu town and the residents have displayed tremendous interest and provided substantial support for the project.
In addition to the ongoing work, we are actively collaborating with various media outlets in Ghana to ensure extensive coverage of the event, to help promote widespread awareness of the Impacts of Hive. The project has been progressing smoothly, and we remain optimistic about completing the work within the proposed timeline.
We extend our thanks to the dedicated team of supervisors(@samed10 and @depressedfuckup) in the Northern region, who have contributed massively towards the successful execution of the two phases. We also appreciate everyone who has expressed interest in the Hive community boreholes project and extended their support.
