Empowerment is the provision of tools and opportunities that enable people to improve their lives. The Hive Empowers Communities initiative epitomizes this mission. The project is helping greatly in providing one of life's most fundamental needs; access to clean water, making real changes in the lives of many people in Ghana.
To date, 17 boreholes have been successfully completed, each bringing a ripple of hope and relief in communities that had been burdened with water shortages. The 18th borehole project in Asenua in the Ashanti Region, Ghana represents one more step on this remarkable journey of empowerment which have all been made possible through the Hive ecosystem.
The Asenua borehole project is going well. It was a few days ago that the first phase of the project involving the drilling and mechanization process was completed. Phase 2 work is at the tail end. Work under this phase is about structural development to support the borehole and makes it easier in accessing the water.
The wall which will house the taps has been constructed and a strong tower that will house the water tank has been constructed. The next series of work being done on the phase includes piping, tiling and electrical works which will all help give the water facility a new outlook and complete the phase.
We have seen a lot of progress so far, all thanks to the wonderful team of workers. The Asenua community awaits the commissioning of their newly constructed borehole. Despite not being yet commissioned, some residents have begun using it for their daily chores, while others are indeed optimistic it will make a great difference. To many of them, this means no more roaming and struggling for clean water, something that was just a daily routine.
None of this would have been possible without support from the Hive ecosystem, also the hard work by the project team, and wonderful reception from the Asenua community have all played a great role towards the progress we have seen so far. The Chief and local leaders have been instrumental in offering guidance and rallying the community behind the project.
This wonderful project will be completed this week will be folpwoed with a launch event which will serve as a new begining of transformatuon in Asenua community. It is not just about clean water; it's about helping people to live healthier while at the same time showing to people how the blockchain technology can effectively be used to bring about change in the real world.
We remain thankful everyone who has taken part in making this initiative happen. We're glad that all this support is leaving an enduring legacy of change in other people's lives. With plans underway for the last phase (the launch), we get to celebrate and take part in the continued journey of empowering individuals. Updates regarding any development on the project will be shared in due course. Thanks for your time and attention.
