This life is full of ups and downs, and it's unpredictable. In one way or another, we have all learned lessons from life and things we have indulged ourselves in. Many learned their own lessons from their own experiences, while others learned their own lessons from other people's experiences. That's why it's good to expose yourself to meaningful books written by thoughtful authors so that you can learn from other people's experiences and mistakes.
Pexel
As a young, promising man and a hardworking hustler. I'm still in my early twenties, but life has really taught me a lot of lessons.
Growing up in an unfavourable environment and not tasting the luxury of life I have learned a lot from life because I didn't come from a background with advantages by default.
I started gathering experiences from life when I was still a teenager because I always get what I need the hard way, and I would love for you to flow with me as I lead you through my life experiences.
• One important lesson that life has taught me is the value of perseverance.
Things got tough and rough for me right from the time I registered for my West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) to the time I got admission into the university. A couple of months before my WASSCE examination registration, my dad died after a brief illness, and I was so devastated. Life gave me two options: either to give up or keep pushing, and I chose to keep pushing.
Though that period wasn't easy for me because we have already spent our last penny on my dad's hospital bill and my WASSCE examination registration has started knocking on the door, I refused to give up on my education, even when some people advised me to quit. I persevered, and today I have my certificate as a secondary school graduate.
Life also taught me lessons when I found myself in a university environment.
My first year on campus was so rough that, at one point in time, I decided to quit and go back home, but I'm glad today that I didn't give the circumstances around me the chance to determine my future.
When times are tough, it's easy to quit or give up, yet perseverance is what enables us to press on and accomplish our objectives. We must persevere even when it seems like we aren't making any progress.
Many of today's highly successful individuals have faced challenges in the past; nevertheless, they persisted, refusing to give up and I believe that one day my story shall be an encouragement to someone out there.
• Another important lesson life has taught me is to always forgive those who wrong me.
Something happened when I was still in high school. On one fateful day, I think it should be on Thursday or Friday. I was playing with my friends in class, and I mistakenly broke one of my classmates knocker in class. I pleaded with her to forgive me because it was a mistake, but she refused to forgive. She reported me to her parents, and her parents had to summon me for interrogation on how their daughter's Knocker got broken.
I was told to go and fix the Knocker, and as little as I was then, I couldn't pay for the repair, so I involved my parents in the matter, and her knocker was repaired.
Some months After repairing the knocker The same girl was playing with her friends in class, and she mistakenly threw an empty pen cover or body on my left eye. I was rushed home, and that led to my being absent from school for days. She didn't bother to ask how I was doing, and I knew that she didn't inform her parents about the incident.
After the treatment and the medications, I later found myself back in school, but the incident led me to have eye problems. Today, I'm wearing medicated eyeglasses not because I was born with an eye defect but because of someone's recklessness. I found it very hard to forgive her, and I vowed to do the same to her, but at some point I decided to let everything be bygones.
Although it is difficult, forgiveness is essential for our personal wellbeing. Our physical and emotional health might be harmed when we harbour anger and resentment. While it doesn't imply erasing everything they did or justifying their actions.
In conclusion, forgiving someone does entail accepting the reality of the bad feelings brought on by the incident. We can release ourselves from the weight of frustration and resentment by forgiving others.
