I have always believed that nothing is completely bad and thus I do not condemn any of these things that I will be outlining below. Some of them are things I desire myself but the fact that they are celebrated a little more than anything should is what I condemn. I am simply of the opinion that there should be moderation is all that we do.
IPhone
A Nigerian comedian once made a joke about Lagos girls and the fact that you could see a girl working in a filling station with a salary of twenty thousand naira (about nineteen dollars) holding an Iphone of over a million naira. Though it was suppose to be a joke but it is our sad reality. Funny enough over fifty percent of these iphone users have no need for the over expensive phone. The most provoking thing is that people now see it as an obligation to ensure that they upgrade to whatever model of iphone that is being release. As a result, those who are not able to meet up with the trend are sometimes considered archaic. A colleague of mine once said that iphone x and xr should not be used by real men and that they are meant for women. That is how bad it has become, people will simply do anything possible to ensure that they meet up with the trend.
Religion
Sometimes I simply wish people can go to less church and become more human. The focus is no doubt suppose to be on God but we have completely lost it and religion is no doubt causing more harm than good to humanity. I am no pagan, I am in fact a great lover of the things of God, I am only an advocate for modesty. If it be the case that we uphold the things that should lead us to God more than God himself then we are no true worshipers of God. Preachers and traditions are never suppose to be on the fore front of the worship of God, the earlier we realize that the better for our poor generation. I do not know how it is in other countries of the world but the rate at which my people over here in Nigeria celebrate religion and religious leaders can sometimes be considered extreme.
Fame
Over fifty percent of young persons will do almost anything to gain fame. Of course it feels good to be popular and I will love to become popular myself but I will not do anything to become popular. Given the value that has been placed on celebrities in this social media age of ours, to become one is almost considered the greatest of all achievement. At this point how one manages to become famous is never of any importance, the attentions is clearly focused on being celebrated for being famous. I just think people should be more of themselves even in their quest for fame, the fake life is becoming a little bit alarming.
Our generation have a way of over celebrating lots of things that actually do not matter much and we must as a matter of fact be on guard so as not to feel intimidated when not necessary. There are certainly more to say but I will stopping here since the prompt mandated that we speak on just three things. I hope that I was able to make some helpful point. I am @ernesto6402, One Love✌️
