Early to Bed Early to Rise: my day is usually drawn up from the bed
Good day everyone. I am just happy to participate in this week's writing prompt. It's actually getting interesting day by day. Hence, with the fantastic topics for the week, I decided to submit my take on one of the topics.
The greatest gift of nature to man as well as animals is the gift of sleep. Anything that does not sleep is a dead thing. Imagine someone staying awake for just one night, you know how it feels. Therefore the importance of sleep to man cannot be downplayed. I read somewhere that humans have to sleep for eight hours to be healthy. This shows how important sleep is for humans.
what sleep does to me
The following are what sleep does to me, I don't know of others.
Firstly, sleep relaxes my mind and muscles. The only thing I do that helps me relax my mind after a hectic day of activities is through sleep. I usually have this weight of a thing taken out of me whenever I am awake. Most times whenever I am so uncoordinated at work, having a nap helps me out of such a situation. Also, sleep helps strengthen my bones and muscles. My tiredness is usually relieved through sleep. I am always awake with strong bones and muscles to tackle the day and my energy levels are always on the rise. Also, sleep affects my emotions also, at times whenever I go to bed angry I am awake refreshed.
Generally, sleep aids the elongation of life and it also aids growth in children. Children who sleep a lot grow faster and healthier than their counterparts who hardly sleep.
For me, one of the things I don't joke with is my sleep. Though I don't sleep for eight hours, I go to bed early and I wake up early too. My new day is usually drafted while I'm in bed. This has become part of my lifestyle. I hardly stay up late at night, as early as 8.00 pm I am already in bed. And by midnight I am already drawing up my activities for the day.
This attitude has aided my productivity and efficiency level at work. The day I mistakenly stayed awake at night, the following day would be a disaster and I might be sleeping all through the day at work which is ethically wrong to sleep while on duty. This has happened several times and I have learned from it never to repeat such a mistake.
Some of my colleagues are victims of this problem, that is, not having enough sleep at night which usually affects their productivity at work. People should learn to have enough sleep at night before resuming work the next day.
Also, the major reason I have successful days and weeks is because I go to bed early and I plan my day while in bed. This has helped me over time.
This is a lesson to everyone also.
Thanks
