Unexpected Delight: One of the Best Gifts I Received

Giving and receiving gifts is a very important part of human life and existence, especially as it puts a smile on both the giver and receiver.

Well, it happened that in September 2020, I had just finished my National Youth Service Program and was at my aunt's house in another state. During that period we were gradually recovering from the pandemic that struck the world and had put everything and everyone on a standstill.

In other to keep myself occupied, I had registered for baking class within the neighborhood, so I had to go for 3 days only. The 21st of September happened to be my birthday, prior to the day, I had just casually told my aunt and her husband about my birthday that was in a few day's time, and they were like “Happy Birthday in advance”, and I replied with a “thank you”.

My birthday finally came, that morning I prepared and went out for my baking class, and when I arrived at my baking school, I got a lot of birthday
wishes and text messages from people, although I had no intentions of celebrating my birthday that day given that I wasn’t with my family, although my aunt and her family were also considered my family, but my immediate family wasn't there, and we all know how almost no one can treat you better than your family (this might not be the case for some persons, but family always gat us).

After the close of my class that day, I headed back home. Upon getting home, as soon as I opened the main door, I discovered that the living room was dark, the lights were off, which is usually not the case at that time of the day, one or two persons are usually just lounging in the living room.

So I made my way to the switch to turn on the lights, and what I heard next was a chorus of Happy Birthday Elfreda!!! I couldn't even describe how I felt at that moment. I felt grateful, excited, in fact, I was overwhelmed. Upon getting inside, I discovered there was a cake, there were snacks and many threats, drinks, and they turned on the music. At the sight of this, I was almost in tears, because I wasn't expecting any of this at all. I just wanted to treat myself later in the evening and get something for every other person at home.

The show began as we all had to put on our dancing shoes as we partied really hard that day.

There was enough food to go round for everyone, so we ate to our heart's content.
When it was time to make a wish and cut my cake, I didn't even have anything to wish for, because all I wanted was already manifesting, so I simply whispered some words of gratitude to God for making my day.

After cutting my cake, and everyone getting a piece, I thought I had had enough surprises or gifts for that day but aparently they weren't done with me. While we were just lounging and having our cakes, my aunt brought out a small parcel and handed it to me saying Happy Birthday. At this point, I was almost speechless, I was like really??? I took my gift and said a hearty thank you to her and her whole family for pulling the whole thing off.

What intrigued me about the whole planned surprise party and gifts was that they didn't really have to, even if they had just said happy birthday only to me, I would have appreciated it because sincerely I wasn't expecting anything from them

So this was and is by far the best gift I've received from anyone, and whenever I remember the whole thing, I just feel grateful to God for blessing me with the best aunt I could ever ask for.

Thank you for stopping by ❤❤❤

Aww
I’ve never had a birthday surprise party before
I’m just trying to understand how it feels through what you are saying
Must be really nice
I trust that @yahuzah will organize some for me this year🥹

Oh just that? Text me your birthdate and we’re good to go 😉
