Prior to the weekly prompts, the Topic "What fuels your fire" got me fascinated. Waking up everyday from our bed and going about our daily activities amidst the chaos, hits differently. There is just something that inspires and urges us to do better for the future.
Growing up I was faced with difficulty especially when I lost my Dad and everything went south. We began struggling at a tender age for a better life. Sometimes we hug things to sell on the road just so we can make ends meet. I could recall that on one of those days we did not go to sell, we just decided to rest as it was stressful to sell on the street we almost died of hunger so the next day no one asked us to keep striving we hurriedly woke and went about our normal routine of hustling to survive. "Hunger" was the inspiration that fuelled our fire that time. We knew how it would be if we did not go out to hustle so we actually put in more effort to hustle for our future.
Facing life more deeper, what fuels my fire changed Hunger was not the inspiration to do better again for the future there was a more deeper urge to do better. Since my growing up was not fun, struggling, stressful, pains and what have you to talk about.The urge to do better for my children yet unborn was the next inspiration that fuelled my fire to do better for the future. All the struggles I am struggling today is to make a better life for my children to build on and make it easier for them to climb the ladder of success free from struggles and so much stress and pains. I grew up struggling at a very tender age and I have vowed to give my children a good life. I listen to parents saying that they suffered to get to where they are and so their own children must also suffer to get to where they want to be too. I dont think thats a better way i think since we have gone through the hurdles of life and it was not a funny experience we should endeavour to also help our children stand to their feet the easier way not to struggle and be successful then still watch your own children coming to struggle too going through the hurdles of life again even after having a successful parent.
Most children that have a successful parent make it easier in life than children that have to struggle on their own before becoming successful. I will use myself as an example. My dream was to study medicine and surgery and become a medical doctor but those dreams were shattered because I was not able to struggle on my own to get there. But if my Father was to be alive, I am sure he would have sacrificed all it would take for me to be successful there. So despite the chaos, despite the stress of life, one thing that fuels my fire that urges and inspires me to do better is to build a better future for my children yet unborn.
