What if I am your Friend?

Today, something got me thinking. I kept asking myself this question: "What if I'm your friend?" When I woke up and checked social media, all I saw were bloggers saying negative things about people. It seems like social media has completely changed the way we live. People use it to start fights and publicly shame others. Unfortunately, many users have suffered severe consequences.

What has caused us to go so wrong? Something that was meant to increase our enjoyment of life is now creating chaos for others. I have come to realize that people no longer care about their fellow human beings because of the allure of fame and popularity. People are willing to do anything to become popular or famous, bloggers will even fabricate stories to attract attention. Social media, such as Web 2.0, is highly centralized and has complete control over what we do on its platforms. It is important to remember that anything we post on the internet is permanent and can never be completely erased.

It seems like every week, there is someone in Ghana who is trending for negative reasons - whether it's due to insults or something else. We can all become victims of the sarcastic tone that permeates social media. Unfortunately, web2 technology has lost its credibility and much of the news we encounter is often false and baseless. It's disheartening that we've reached this point.

It's natural to think about family when considering a person's actions. I wish people would consider the truth before sharing rumors.
