Football is more than just a sport or entertainment, it's a Spirit, it's now a norms in every street in Nigeria where a particular piece of land is set for football pitch, we really did that when growing up. It's easy for us to clear a thick bush for football sake than to wash plates at home.
Only guys that loves football understands this which over 80% of Nigerian guys either watch football or play, most even do the both, I have always a fan of football, other sport I take as fun.
I can't even remember when I started playing football but I could remember when I started watching football live matches.
Right from time when I had no knowledge about football clubs, bit it was chelsea reigning then as most of my friends and elder people in my area were Chelsea fan, so I decided to join them with mouth.
But it didn't last long because I had a friend that was a goofball addict, even I couldn't afford the viewing fee then he would shows highlights to me some days after the match, he always made sure he gives me all details of big matches by telling me, imagine how the scenerio will be on my head, I always try to picture every bit of the details within me, I loved it and I had to choice but to support his team then, he was a fan of liverpool and I changed my heart to being a liverpool fan.
Some years later when I started watching football, I watched liverpool's match often and often but I didn't see what my friend had been telling me, I loved tiki-taka football but they don't play it, until I watched one of Arsenal's football matches, it was the time of Arshavin and Arsenal won that particular day, it was a very interesting match as Arsenal dominated both half, I loved their pattern of play and I concluded to join them, that was how I became an Arsenal fan.
Up till today I never regretted joining Arsenal football club, even though there has been some banter about Arsenal not winning UEFA trophies, there are clubs that has won champiomleague but have been relegated to lower leagues, consistency is what matters in becoming relevant.
