How I was able to Overcome a Financial Struggle in School.

Back in my second semester of school last year, I went through one of the toughest times of my life. Money was tight—so tight that I couldn’t afford a lot of the things I needed. Prices of things went ridiculously high, and feeding myself became a daily struggle. I had to hustle in whatever small ways I could just to raise money for food. It wasn’t easy at all.

Even when I thought of calling home for help, I knew my mum didn’t have much to offer either. She was already doing her best, but things were tough on her end too. I didn’t want to add to her burden, so I had to figure something out for myself. But honestly, there were moments when I felt completely stuck, not knowing what to do or where to turn.

That was when I decided to reach out to one of my brothers. I explained my situation to him, hoping he could help somehow. Instead of just sending me money, he gave me advice that ended up being a real game-changer. He told me about Hive and how it could help me earn something for myself. At first, I didn’t really know what to expect, but I trusted his judgment and decided to give it a shot.

He asked another person to help me set up an account. I gave him the username I wanted, and he handled everything for me. That’s how I finally got started on Hive.

When I joined in may, I didn’t know much about how the platform worked. It felt a bit overwhelming, to be honest. But I knew I didn’t have much of a choice, so I started learning. Slowly, I figured out how to post, engage with others, and make the most of the platform.. For the first time in a while, I didn’t have to rely entirely on my mum or my brother to get by. I could sort out some of my bills, and that actually did give me a confidence boost I really needed.

I’m so grateful for Hive because it helped me pull through a really difficult period. It wasn’t just about the money—it was about having a way to take control of my situation and feel less helpless.

Even though I’m not exactly where I want to be financially, I’m not in the same place I was during that tough semester. That’s something I’ll always be grateful for. Hive gave me hope and showed me that no matter how hard things get, there’s always a way to move forward. For that, I’ll always hold this platform in high regard.

Thanks for reading.
