I enjoy Christmas celebrations for several reasons, and I vibe to each of those reasons. The religious significance of the celebration is valid. I like to get myself into that.
My family background also helps.
I grew up in a Christian home where we undoubtedly have Christmas as the biggest occasion we celebrate each year. During that season, the build-up is always adventurous. As a Kid, Christmas signified a moment of enjoyment. We get to eat to our fill and we also get to eat Chicken.
In case you don't have the full gist, an opportunity to eat Chicken is a very big deal in most Nigerian homes. It comes mostly during festive seasons. We don't even eat nearly enough of the chicken. My family, for example, is a family of 7. A full chicken wouldn't be enough to hit the spot.
However, we are always grateful for each piece we get. Haha.
If you are curious about the motivation for this Christmas-themed post I'm writing... It's due to a writing prompt in @hive.ghana's writing prompt of the week.
They asked;
This year, how do you plan to celebrate the Christmas festivities?
Yeah!
Every year, I always wish for the sort of Christmas celebration where I will be together with my family, and we all will have a quality Christmas celebration filled with peace and excitement. That's all I need for my Christmas.
However, for as long as I can remember, I haven't been able to celebrate this season with my family. The hustle is real and I'm still very far from where I need to be. I end up being very far away whenever this occasion is around the corner.
For this year's edition, I have been gearing up for an International trip which I will make in the second week of December. Once I come back from the trip, my attention will be fully focused on relaxing and getting set for what next year will present.
So, I will also be spending this Christmas away from home.
Thank goodness for technology though. Despite the distance, I will still be up-to-date with my family to know how they are enjoying this festive season.
With just a week remaining before we get into December, I will use this moment to gladly send my Happy Christmas greetings to y'all.
Enjoy the week, folks.
Thanks For Not Missing Any Full-stop or Comma.
