Whenever the issue of global unemployment is discussed, I sometimes wonder if there will ever be a total cure to a global menace that has overtime rendered almost every known strategy and intervention useless. It is well known that various governments (even the advanced nations) of the world find it a thorn in the flesh trying to come up with lasting solutions to the dismal situation of global unemployment. Economies with great manpower and topnotch technocratic systems have their own share of the menace. It is a general problem even though relative.
From my end, I think there is no new idea or strategy to putting an end to global unemployment other than a reshuffling and refining of already known ideas. Some of the ideas I'll suggest here are already founded on some other ideas made by great minds before now. I'll only try to be creative with what is already suggested. I think my suggestions would apply to every known government, youth and nation. I will be focusing on two major points, which are:
Educational Reform
It is often said that the labour market is quite different from the average school setting. I can't agree less especially as a fresh graduate. The world out here is way different from what the school environment provides. This situation is caused mainly by the kind of academic programs run by our schools. Our school systems still do the usual teaching of same old things to different generations of students paying little to no attention to the real thing - self discovery, improvement and development, emotional and social intelligence, vocational studies, money-making skills, self creativity and the likes. Many young people on leaving school find it difficult to go with the tides of responsibilities that abound in a real life setting - everyone would have to fit in to a mould if he or she must excel academically as a student. Many lack the emotional intelligence that drives survival after school. On leaving school, they realize they've not been properly guided as to what matters most in the wider, fiercer world. Many lack beneficial relationships which matters a lot as long as the case of employment is concerned. I, personally, have come across fellow young people who taught all that mattered was good grades. Many so much pursued good grades that they left other important aspects of their lives unattended, only to graduate and realize that the real world operates differently. One cannot give what he or she does not have. This is the beginning of the unemployment problem - from our academic settings.

Rigorous Entrepreneurial Drive
From the little I know about entrepreneurship, I can say it is what drives economy the most. Truth is, people who couldn't complete schooling can get a chance of being employed too. For the time being, some people are not educated enough to work in coveted companies and institutions of great reputation. How do they come in? It can only be through driving in the right entrepreneurial spirit in them. Both private and governmental institutions (individuals alike) should invest in people who have something they are passionate about. They may not necessarily be educated by academic standard. In fact, it is those who know they are already disadvantaged by illiteracy that can give in their very best when empowered according to their passion. Human capital development has always been the greatest weapon against global unemployment.
Conclusion
Our schools should change their approach of education. We should focus more on what makes people's best more reflective instead of trying to force everyone in the system to pass through an already decided pattern of operation. Time should be given to self discovery. Most people who are considered academically poor surely have areas they are good at which may not be found in our normal school settings. In fact, most people don't get to use their school certificates after leaving school. They start all over again on a new path, their chosen path, which of course require time and real efforts to amount to something worthwhile. These are people who are bold enough to pursue what they are really passionate about, after discovering what drives them from within, and not what they are driven to do. Those who still seek employment based on the specifications of their certificates may end up getting frustrated even though they may be good at something else which may not be found in a normal school setting. Our schools ought to focus more on value generation, and value is tied to what one enjoys doing as a result of self discovery. With self discovery, development and improvement most unemployment cases would be a thing of the past.
