We are thrilled to share the resounding success of the Hive Blockchain and Web3 Conference, held on June 21, 2023, at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. Organized by @mcsamm and @collinz, esteemed leaders of the hiveghana community on Hive Blockchain, the conference aimed to lay the foundation for an upcoming larger web3 event later in the year. With meticulous planning and a dedicated team, the seminar witnessed a remarkable turnout and left a lasting impact on attendees.
Remarkable Organization and Execution:
The planning team, led by @mcsamm and @collinz, demonstrated exceptional organizational skills and executed the event with precision. Their tireless efforts ensured that every aspect of the tech event was well-coordinated and successful, reflecting their commitment to fostering innovation and education within the blockchain and Web3 communities.
Massive Turnout and Enthusiasm:
The conference garnered a tremendous response, with the hall accommodating over 500 participants. Such was the level of interest that some attendees stood outside the hall, unable to enter due to the overwhelming number of participants. Notably, the majority of the attendees were students from the esteemed computer science department, demonstrating their eagerness to enhance their lives and careers with Web3 and blockchain technology.
Security and Collaboration:
The university's security team played a crucial role in ensuring a safe and orderly conference environment. Their assistance and support helped maintain peace and sanity throughout the event. Additionally, the active involvement of the university's Department of Computer Science further reinforced the collaborative efforts to make the conference a remarkable success.
Empowering Attendees:
To equip attendees with valuable resources, 500 Hive brochures were distributed. These comprehensive guides provided step-by-step instructions on how to sign up on Hive and explore more about Web3 and Hive Blockchain. Attendees were also delighted to receive Hive-branded books and pens and were rewarded with Hive shirts for their active participation during the event.
Engaging Presentations and Knowledge-Sharing:
The conference featured four distinguished personalities who delivered insightful presentations on topics carefully selected by the organizers. Students were captivated by the wealth of knowledge shared and gained valuable insights into leveraging Web3 to enhance their computer science proficiency beyond the classroom. The final presenter guided students through the process of creating Hive accounts using the dedicated event website.
Continuous Support and Community Building:
A team of protocolists was present throughout the event, offering guidance and support to participants during the Hive signup process. Furthermore, the event facilitated the formation of dedicated Telegram and WhatsApp groups, bringing together participants who had created Hive accounts. These groups will serve as platforms for training and providing ongoing support to navigate the Hive Blockchain ecosystem.
University Support and Future Prospects:
The conference garnered significant interest from the faculty and department heads of the university. As a result, there have been discussions about establishing a Hive Club within the university to equip students with essential web3 and blockchain skills, enhance their employability, and provide opportunities for future success. Lecturers from the computer science department also expressed their interest in creating Hive accounts and encouraged all students to do the same.
