Hello guys, hope y'all had a good day? Welcome to my blog !
Transportation is very important in the lives of most individuals, and public transportation can be defined as one of the most essential means of moving from one location to another.
Nonetheless the use of public transport is not as pleasant as one might think especially during times of rush hours like Mondays in the morning when buses are packed.
The overcrowding of this mode of transport, especially during rush hours, is one of the major issues that we passengers face on a daily basis.
Weekdays, especially early in the morning, are usually filled with traffic congestion of people going to their respective workplaces, school or any other important appointment they may have had for the day, and it is always a herculean task to look for a seat.
If one has to fight his/her way onto a bus or train and then be restricted to standing throughout his/her journey, it can be rather tiring and uncomfortable, especially if the day you are traveling is hot and you frequently have to wipe your brow with the sweat that seems never to leave. A few of these inconveniences may include heat and inadequate chairing spaces, which though common with public transport, there are antithetical solutions as well.
Among the major issues of public transportation there is such factor as a high number of people to transport. When traffic is congested, buses and trains are overcrowded; passengers barely have enough space to stand properly, much less catch their breaths and look for a place to sit.
In many parts of the world using public transport is a very uncomfortable experience because of the various frustrations that are associated with it. Many times when one is on the road he or she may be stuck in traffic for hours, planes may be delayed, cancelled or changed at short notice, thus making the passengers very unhappy.
However, there are always risks associated with using public transport; one can get their pockets picked, be harassed, or fall a victim of violence and instances of vandalism.
Another feature that could be changed is to increase the frequency of bus or train in the rush hour to get rid of overcrowded transport and to provide a comfortable transport for everyone.
Furthermore, there is an argument that it is possible to invest in air conditioning on the passenger carrying vehicles in order to provide better experience to the passengers especially during warm weather conditions.
On top of those measures, there are also common sense recommendations that a particular rider can apply to make greater sense of existing public transport during his/her daily trips. A piece of advice is to check the timetables beforehand and specify the time to meet and the ways needed to get there, having more time in the program in case of the delay.
To enhance physical security, the government could invest in other security measures like installing and expanding surveillance systems, hiring more security personnel, and other safety measures like surveillance cameras, Security personnel, and alarm systems among others.
Another strategy is that if it is feasible, depending on destination, one should consider other alternatives of transport like cycling or walking. Also, considering the inconveniences of other passengers, like giving up your seat for people who may require it, contributes to the overall pleasant experience for every passenger.
However there are so many constraints and complications that are associated with the use of public transport and yet it is part and parcel of everybody’s business.
Through identifying areas that can be developed to enhance the comfort and time spent on board, and through employing techniques to factor in the system better, passengers can transform the daily rides into a more comfortable and less stressful affair.
Lastly, public transportation is a common commodity in society; thus, if we come together in a bid to enhance its efficiency, the result is the enhancement of the quality of our ride.
