I can say Apollo is caused by germ when it contracts the eyes, I don't think is transferable but we can contract it in different ways. And in Nigeria, people will start running away from that person because they don't want to get infected.
Have never contracted Apollo before and I pray I will never get it. but have seen many people who were affected by Apollo I pity them because they are going through a lot of pain.
My brother contracted this Apollo while playing his rough play around the community, he didn't usually hear words he always turned on deaf ears to every word. At that time Apollo spread like wildfire within the community almost everyone was infected.
He went to play outside that day he came back with red eyes my mummy knows he was infected by Apollo.
As for me, I was busy making jest of him and I didn't stay near him because I didn't want to get infected so I distanced myself from him. Not only me running away from him even his friends were running away, he was just alone on his own He got jealous whenever he saw his friends playing and his eye condition caused him discomfort and itching every minute.
He washed his face with water before he could open his eyes in the morning, he couldn't bend down comfortably because the moment he did that he felt like his eyes were about to fall off.
So my mummy took him for the treatment and he was given eye drops, eventually, it was cleared in a few days. it was a painful experience for him because everyone was avoiding him.
Since then he never wished to suffer from such again because he went through a lot of pain. I never want to experience such as well because I don't want to go through that pain and I don't think it still exist in my part of the country because it has been many years since I heard someone got affected by the disease.
