It is safe to say that art has an impact on people and society. It relays a message to the viewer and allows the viewer to express his feelings and emotions. When one steps in front of a piece of art, drawing, or painting it sends a message to the viewer that allows him to give his perspective and views concerning that artwork.
Art is like a dialogue between the artist and the viewer more like words unsaid by the artist. Just looking at a piece can echo different feelings and bring about the dialogue of the messages the artist is trying to pass. It opens a window to human imagination that compels us to stop, observe, and ponder.
My course of study at the university was fine and applied arts and I took general courses in art history, painting, textiles, and sculpture before majoring in graphics design. So, I got to view society from a different perspective and that art can function as a mirror in which we view society reflecting on social values, anxiety, and societal challenges. It showed a different view of the world.
A mini project I did back in school
Art is important in our lives whether we are creating or just enjoying the view because it provides a means to express ourselves as an artist when words fail us. In so many artworks we see today, some depict societal struggles, harsh economy, life, love, and even culture making the viewers learn and communicate. It's a safe place to express and communicate.
I titled the one at the right side Scary Beauty
Like the popular saying goes "Art is life ". It plays an important role in influencing and reflecting our societal values, expressing oneself emotionally, and narrating human expression in its simplest form. All sides of the human world and lives can be expressed through art giving us to have a feel of the world no matter where we are.
