I am privileged to participate in this question that is posed to us in the Hive Ghana community which says:
Yes, I would say!
Before entering the world of Hive, I met with several platforms, all in the name of looking for money to help myself and support my family. Most of these platforms have crashed today and this pegs this question in my mind even before I met Hive: "Is it possible to live and sustain through these online platforms for a long time?" This question was a result of my thought towards the future and how things would look like if we rely much on these blogging platforms without thinking of something else to do outside cryptocurrency in case they fail us.
I have been scammed a lot of times, and even before being introduced to these sites, I was of the opinion that crypto is "blood money". Yes, I thought it was devil's money because I couldn't understand how the money comes and its source. I thought it was illegal and so, this is against God's line. I came to understand more about crypto when I first knew about Bitcoin, the father of cryptocurrency and this was way back in the year 2016. I think that was when the price was still very low but I never knew more than the name "Bitcoin". It was after 4 years I came to realize I could have jumped onto the opportunity to buy the token and perhaps become a millionaire or becoming a whale on Hive today. Who would blame me then? I was still very young and naive about digital money.
Even after being scammed several times, I failed not to learn my lesson but still would jump onto the next opportunity. Some, I earned while others went with my money. I never for once doubt what crypto could do in one's life. Cryptocurrency is able to change someone into a millionaire overnight and at the same time could turn one into a miserable being after losing a bunch of money invested into cryptocurrency. I remembered a friend of mine who got an airdrop of a token that was worth more than 600,000 naira. He was so excited that he even gave me some to enjoy myself. I have known crypto is here to change people's lives and I wouldn't blame most of them still giving it a doubt if it would be worth going into.
Many have been scammed that they neglected anything called crypto or any platform where one can earn because they believe it cannot be possible. This is the reason there are people who still doubt this Hive blockchain as they conclude that it is not possible to earn for writing. Some have asked me different questions: "Where does the money given to you come from? How do you people write and earn just like that, etc?"
My elder sister has tried to discourage me from wasting my time on Hive because, to her, it is not a recognised platform like Medium, Fiverr, blogger etc. Yes, I wouldn't blame her too because I still see Hive being an underdog. The time would come when people who took this platform for granted would come to see the great potential that has come into the limelight. Hive is still in hiding for a lot of people and is yet to shine more than how it is doing now.
Hive has changed many people's perspectives and turned their lives for good. I have read how this blockchain has helped provide social amenities like water, health services, roads etc for people across the world and how they have come to be blessed by this awesome platform.
I have benefitted a lot from Hive. I have been able to support my brother on his first day at the University when he thought he wouldn't be able to go because some of my family were of the opinion he should not go to that particular school. Hive has helped me lend my hands in support of people around me. Hive gave me the opportunity to be respected even in my family. There are lots of things I wouldn't be able to mention as they are many.
It is only when one hasn't dipped their legs into the water, they think it is deep. One has to try something first before concluding if it is bad or not. Those who have registered and are withdrawing today would testify to how amazing this platform is. I believe they were once like others who had the doubt and uncertainty about Hive.
Hive has great potential and there is more to what the blockchain is able to do for people. Embracing this platform would change people's perspective towards cryptocurrencies because Hive has proven to be the best decentralized platform for everyone.
