Our belief is the sum total of our experiences in life. What we have seen make up our philosophies and give us grounds for argument whether or not an entity exists. Witchcraft is real, in fact, it's more real than the physical world itself, because whatever happens in the world is a display of what has already taken place in the unseen world. If you believe in ghosts, then you should believe in the unseen world, because ghosts don't live among us, they live in a world that we do not see with our naked eyes but can present to scare and cause havoc.
Being an African had made me experience evil and havoc done by these unseen creatures or humans. While we were younger, we heard younger children make confession of a fellowship with gods and this fellowship happens when they take up their spiritual body and travel into a realm that no human can see. They confessed to killing their loved ones from their coven and once it was done there, the result starts to manifest in the physical. They didn't need to cause a physical attack, all they do is spiritually and the result is seen in the physical.
Some years ago, a woman confessed to being the one responsible for the death of our younger brother. Prior to his death, our fifth born twin would keep shouting that he saw a woman standing beside the window of our house looking at the child. My parents who couldn't see always scolded him and sometimes sent him out of the room when they felt he was disturbing them. This continued for some time and they had to change his room. It was after they changed his room that the woman succeeded in doing what she wanted and confessed some years later.
Personally I've not encountered witchcraft, but I've heard stories of people who were once into one form of witchcraft and confessions from people who used witchcraft to cause an accident or death.
