My Journey on Hive

Hive is obviously one of the few good things that happened to me this year. It’s been six months on this platform already and I still remember everything like it was yesterday.

Hive has done a lot of good for me. Most important of all is preserving my story and my art. I was pleased to learn that all the pieces that we put on Hive are not erasable and will stay on the blockchain forever. My journey is very important to me and I deem it very necessary to preserve it. I hope to read my stories to my grandchildren and children someday.

The journey of my history preservation started with a diary on my bed. I started writing about my day since 2020. I would write in detail every essential and nonessential thing that happened to me or around me, every day for two years.

I don’t have a password on my phone or laptop. Everything about me is very accessible, except my diaries. No matter how close we are, you are not allowed to read a single thing from any of my diaries.

I attended a town hall meeting somewhere last year and met a friend named Bilkis. In my conversation with Bilkis, one thing led to another and I mentioned how I’ve been writing my daily diary for two years and how it has helped me to identify myself and improve my mental and spiritual wellbeing.

Bilkis was amazed by my dedication and suggested that I start writing my daily diary on a blockchain platform where it would be safe and secure and I could even get rewarded for sharing my daily activities in a community on that particular blockchain. That was how I was introduced to Web 3 blockchain blogging.

For about four months I was comfortable sharing my daily experiences on that platform because I had no friends there. Everyone was a stranger therefore I didn’t have any hinge sharing my personal information. Although even then, I was still writing in my personal diary and made sure to keep explicit information there and not on the blockchain.

In late 2022, I met @abdul01 in another town hall meeting and he mentioned Hive to me. I was immediately convinced to migrate from my previous diary blockchain to Hive. The main reason I decided to move to Hive was because I had developed an interest in storytelling and I was sure of a community on Hive that could appreciate my stories and give positive feedback. Hive was also better rewarding.

However, I couldn’t create a Hive account until I met Zology. I attended the first-ever Hive meeting in Tamale and that was where my Hive account was born.

I was so excited to have my active Hive account. I shared my Introduction Post the next and the welcome I received was overwhelming.

I started navigating through the streets of Hive. I found interesting communities and amazing authors that I enjoy reading from. I also made some friends.

Through Hive, I have been able to make an impact in my community by taking part in book distribution to school children in my community which is a big deal to me.

I have learned more about cryptocurrencies, information decentralization, and proof of stake. As I keep exploring more about Hive, I learn new things every day and I meet amazing people all the time.

Hive has done a lot for me. However, I believe there is still a lot more that Hive has to offer. I’m looking forward to meeting a lot more incredible authors from all corners of the world.

I’m also very positive about the social intervention projects that Hive is funding in Ghana and beyond. I believe strongly that with Hive, we can do great things from small places.

All pictures in this post belong to me. Thanks to @hive.ghana for this topic

I hope you still write in your diary though just like mine I do but mine is scattered everywhere and gave been trying all my whole life since 2018 to buy myself a diary but I couldn't. I'm so happy to read about your Journey and things you are have put together, I'm sure your grandkid and kids will be proud of this

Yes I still write in my diary. Everyday. Just that I don’t write stories anymore, just how my day went.

It’s so satisfying to read about what you did a year or two ago, especially on my birthdays. It’s incredible.

Thanks for reading. I appreciate your comment also 👍🏿

You are welcome my man

Wow that's was a good meeting for you guy, just have you have been looking for an opportunity to explore hive is just a better place to do that, hope you keep it writing your daily dairy. Good luck as you keep exploring

Yeah sure, I still write my daily diary everyday. Thank you so much for passing through

Wow, this has indeed been an exciting journey for you. The blockchain technology has given you a place where you could leave more information for the next generation, with its immutable feature, it's far better than keeping a diary now. I'm glad today you have leaned and discovered that there are many more things you could do here. Keep enjoying every momne of your stay. Thanks for sharing your your story. @thisisnativeboy

I can totally relate to this as it is very much the same with how I feel about hive. Hive have helped me prioritise the important things that I need to focus my time on which is in the learning and impacting on people's life. This piece has indeed given me the opportunity to reach out to the two most important things that I mostly look up to and I am glad how far you have gone as well.

Enjoy!!!

I’m glad to read that you’re also tapping into some benefits from this platform. Hive is amazing 👍🏿
