The sun was shining, so we decided to take a drive down the Ornamental Drive in the New Forest, Hampshire, UK. It was a nice day for a stroll, though, so after finding a parking spot, we set off on a circular walk through the forest.
As we made our way along the trail, the trees towering above us, we came across a little wooden bridge that crossed over a little brook.
The path wound its way through the forest. Pockets of sunlight filtered through the trees.
Someone had done a bit of bushcrafting. It was quite an impressive den.
I noticed that some of the trees were covered in lovely green moss. It looked like a soft, green blanket wrapping around the tree trunks.
Considering how much rain we've had recently, it's surprising that I only spotted a few fungi popping up in the forest.
After an hour's walk, we emerged from the forest and walked across the road to pick up the trail, so we could get back to the starting point of our walk. Thankfully, the sun stayed out until we got back home.
