Training Ground: A New Era to Learn New Things in Splinterlands

in #hive-1776827 hours ago

Gone are those days when a player used practice mode to learn how to play splinterlands. Though I enjoyed the previous mode because I was always paired up with novice players. Therefore, it had a 99.5% winning rate! I don't think I have ever been defeated. It was as easy as anything for me.

The reasons I stopped using the previous practice made were:
Very easy but paired with a tougher opponent: if the way I was paired with an easy player when practicing was the same way I was paired with players during ranked battles; I would have won 99.5% of the battles.
It isn't like that when playing ranked battles, I always paired with tough players that took time to defeat. There was a time I hardly won 5 out of 10 battles as a result of the players being too tough for me.
There was no usefulness of the previous practice mode!
If the way I won battles in the practice mode was the same way I used to win ranked battles, I would have won a lot of Dark Crystal Energy (DEC) at the end of every season.

In the new development (training ground), you can choose how you want your opponent to be. If you want to train with top players, the floor is open, and if you want to train with players that have not mastered the game, the floor is open.

Not all cards are available: now, this is the feature I love the most in this recent development. A player can use cards that do not belong to him. A ghost card is a card that does not belong to you but one can use it to practice. This development allows a player to understand stats of cards he doesn't have and how he can deal with such a player if he encounters them in ranked battles.
Just like what I said in one of my post Ghost Cards- A Game Changer
Click the above link to read more about it.
Ghost Cards give players an opportunity to understand the depth and breadth of stats of monsters and summoners.if a player is a gold level and want to understand how battles in champion level look like, such a player can use a training ground.
Therefore a player has the opportunity to monsters or summoners of his/her choices.

It does not give room for someone to explore more: think about it! I do win 99.5% of my battles, it makes one feel like a champion while I am not. I believe no matter how the player arranges the monsters, I always win. There was a day I played 25 battles; and I won all the battles. I was feeling like I was the only champion but when I played ranked battles, it was a different atmosphere. As a player, everyday cannot be a sweet day, there were days I encountered experts in the game. When I discovered that I lost in a streak, I stopped the game. Therefore, you cannot compare the tempo of previous practice with the ranked battles.

Important of Training Ground
Learning new strategies: hmmmm! In my next post, I'm going to share my first battle here. When I tested the training ground today to play, there were monsters I have never used before that I needed to learn before using them. There are monsters with four abilities which are very crucial to use.
Using a trading ground allows one to learn different strategies for opponents- the arrangement of monsters, the summoners they use and how they arrange their monsters.

It is more challenging: It was a challenging moment for me especially when I played max account. It took me time to win a battle. This was because I have never play MAX account. I learned stats of many monsters, and I understood the best position I can use those monsters.
My opponents were very skillful and they already know the best monsters and summoners for the battles.
When I used level 6 summoners of which I am using, I won the first battle. This was because I have been playing in that level for long period of time; I know the best monsters and summoners to use.
Hence, there are different between players that use max account and the one that is not, in term of game experience, monsters and summoners stats.
With they way I'm using Hard, ghost cards and expert in the trading ground, I am gaining more experiences.

Preparing for any players: using ghost cards in trading ground prepares for big battles. I began to understand the important of Training- if I had the opportunity of training ground in those time I loss some battles, I wouldn't have lost them.

In conclusion, Training ground is important for every player in splinterlands. This is because every player needs to learn something to honey their skills.
Since I understood it, I will make sure to learning more in the training ground.
The important of learning is to gain more experiences to win the battles. The more battles a player win the better the player earn and move up in leaderboard.
