Good evening to all hive friends,

Sri Lanka is currently at a crucial juncture as the nation approaches an important political election. After several years marked by prolonged economic, social, and health challenges, as well as political uncertainty, the country is now entering the final days leading up to a heated presidential election. The election is scheduled to take place on the 21st of this month, offering citizens a significant opportunity to shape the future of the country.

Since 2022, Sri Lanka has been facing severe inflation and shortages of essential goods such as fuel, food, and medicine, primarily due to years of mismanagement. Additionally, the country fell into a deep economic crisis by defaulting on foreign debt. The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic also played a significant role in worsening the situation. Despite efforts by the government to manage the crisis under the leadership of Gotabaya Rajapaksa, the severe hardships faced by the public led to widespread protests. These protests eventually resulted in Gotabaya Rajapaksa's resignation, triggering a series of political changes that paved the way for an interim government led by Ranil Wickremesinghe.
