Rodney has performed his songs "Breakout" and "How Is It" at the VMAs, and it was a piano driven performance, which his topnotch vocals was showcased. The performance received a more than a minute standing ovation from fans and celebrities. Jason was also seen cheering on Rodney's performance.
The nominees for Best Male Video category was presented, by which Rodney's "Breakout" and Jason's "The Machine" are nominated. The award was given to alternative rock singer Adam Keith. The next category was Best Pop Video, and the nominees included "Finally" by Melanie, "Got to Be You" by Emily, and "Love Sign" by Elma.

Elma was hugged by Michael congratulating her for her second award.

The three major categories follows. Song of the Year includes "The Machine" by Jason as a nominee, which he had won.

For Artist of the Year category, Jason and Rodney were nominated but it was awarded to Billie E. They're also nominated for Video of the Year category but Best Male Video winner Adam Keith took home the biggest category award.
After the awards show, Jason, Rodney, and Elma met to have a picture taking as each of them had two trophies won from the VMAs.
