It was a wet and cold night, but that did not stop us from wanting to catch the fireworks at Taipei 101 for the new year countdown. It was a good 30 minutes walk toward the site under the slight drizzle.
When we reached there, the best view was of course taken up. The road facing the Taipei 101 was filled with people, holding umbrellas. I was worried that I might not get a good view with the folks right in front of me holding up their umbrellas.
Anyway, we managed to squeeze in on the side of the road. The tree and flag was blocking part of the view. Not perfect, but also perfect in the sense that I am glad I got to see a good enough view.
When the firework was about to start, the umbrellas were all kept. Kudos to the Taiwanese for being considerate!
The video turned out well. If you notice the lack of stability in the video, that was my arm under attack with possibly lactic acid accumulation after holding up the phone for a sustained period.
In the past, I would have wished for an absolute clear take of the fireworks to capture the perfect images. But this year, hopefully due to becoming a bit wiser, I feel that the fireworks fighting to sparkle in the foggy night sky is perfect for the moment. Afterall, we are finally getting out of the pandemic, and I am glad to be witnessing this fantastic fireworks at Taipei 101 after these few years.
Whatever I see is what it is.
May the 2023 be the best 2023 you have! Happy new year!
