Seven Seas Bulletin, Feb 22nd 2023. 🐚 Collecting Seashells, 🍽️ Oyster Recipes, ⛵ Nautical Poetry

in #hive-1776822 years ago

When it comes to gathering seashells from the shoreline, there are plenty of options available – ranging in size and shape depending on where you go. You can try visiting different beaches throughout your travels since each location may offer their own variety of shells and other natural treasures. It's also important keep safety in mind when searching; going barefoot could leave small pieces lodged into feet so always wear protective footwear such as flip-flops or sandals while exploring. Make sure not take anything living. Only dead material should ever be collected when out hunting for shells. Collecting seashells offers more than just aesthetic appeal. Spending quality time outdoors discovering various types of treasures found within nature can have lasting positive effects even after returning indoors on your stress levels.

Exploring the beach and finding shells can be a fun activity for people of all ages. Whether you’re out for an afternoon stroll, or looking to add some unique items to your home décor, collecting shells is a rewarding pastime that brings many benefits.

Nautical Poetry

A life of travels

The salty seas churn, a wild and untameable force.
A gentle wind blows across the still surface.
Sailboats bob up and down in tune with waves that never cease.
Their sails kiss the breeze beneath the infinite blue.
The ancient call to seafarers arises from yonder's shore;
To explore this wide world round, what we have not seen.
We raise our ships' wings high and journey on ahead--
Where destiny awaits us, only fate and time will tell.

Sail Free

Sailing out on the open sea,
A salty breeze upon me.
The waves will crest and rise again,
As I take in all that's been.

My vessel glides through gentle swells
Blue ocean depths no one can tell.
I see a distant shoreline ahead,
The wind rippling through my sails.

Onward my course, a timeless path
A distant journey will I take.
The sun will set and rise again,
As clouds drift across the sky so blue.

My captain's voice rings out clear,
Guiding me with his cheer.
We'll never be lost at sea,
For this is how we sail free.

Sustainable Seafood Recipes : Oysters 🍴

Oysters with Mignonette Sauce
by Ari Laing for Well Seasoned Studio
https://www.wellseasonedstudio.com/mignonette/

"Freshly shucked raw oysters: is there anything better? While delicious on their own or with a squeeze of fresh lemon, we prefer to top them with a simple Mignonette. Ready in 5 minutes (yes, really!) and made from a quick mix of red wine vinegar, shallots, and black pepper. Refreshing, light, and the perfect little something to take oysters on the half shell over the top!"

"Rich, creamy, and full of wonderful seafood flavor, this Oyster Stew recipe is easy to make and comes together quickly. It’s perfect for a special holiday dinner but simple enough to whip up anytime!"

🐬🐬🐬Donate to the Dolphin Project 🐬🐬🐬https://www.dolphinproject.com/donate/
Dolphin Project is a non-profit charitable organization, dedicated to the welfare and protection of dolphins worldwide. Founded by Richard (Ric) O’Barry on Earth Day, April 22, 1970, the organization aims to educate the public about captivity and, where feasible, retire and/or release captive dolphins.
The mission of Dolphin Project is to end dolphin exploitation and slaughter, as dolphins are routinely captured, harassed, slaughtered and sold into captivity around the world – all in the name of profit. Dolphin Project works not only to halt these slaughters, but also to rehabilitate captive dolphins for retirement and/or release, investigate and advocate for economic alternatives to dolphin slaughter, and to put a permanent end to dolphin captivity.

Port Sundries is not affiliated with Dolphin Project but supports their goal 100%.
