🧙♀️Hey Battle Mages!
Here's a warm welcome to this week's battle mage secrets. We are down to 8 DAYS:16 HOURS to the End of Season [EOS], I truly hope you are having fun progressing through the leagues and looting those rewards chest😉.
This post is my continuous attempt to explain how I approach the various kinds of Splinterlands battle rulesets. I have so far shared my approach to Twenty Four (24) Rulesets, here's the last one on 🐌REVERSE SPEED and I have come to introduce you to another.
This is an interesting ruleset that's void of conditions, But, before I tell you all about it, there's plenty days left, so if you want to know other battle mages secrets and take part by sharing with us yours, simply visit 👉BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge!
Splinterlands seeks to sharpen player skills by allowing us explore various strategies via rulesets
. I have tried to study a few cards especially with the newly introduced rulesets, giving one more reasons to know what cards strongly suits them.
Before the start of any battle, each player is shown what ruleset is allowed in battle and it is extremely beneficial to read and strategize accordingly. The ruleset secret I will be sharing you to in this post is the RISE OF THE COMMONS
RISE OF THE COMMONS RULESET implies that ONLY Common and Rare Monsters may be used in battles.
With this in mind;
Wise players will make a balanced team. Focusing their attacks on a specific opponent's monster.
So what happens when summoners can't give any buffs/debuffs and all monsters are poisoned at the start of each round of battle? Now you have less than 2.5mins to quickly think, eliminate & select. Well worry not because I have the perfect battle to demonstrate this and a possible lineup that works for low mana battles.
📜RISE OF THE COMMONS + NOXIOUS FUMES DUEL: A DEEP DIVE INTO MY LINEUP📜
RULE SET | |
---|---|
STANDARD | MODIFICATIONS TO THE RULES AND MECHANICS |
MANA CAPACITY | 18 |
AVAILABLE ELEMENT | only Fire🔥, Earth🍃 Water🌊, and Life🌬 elements allowed |
This was a Low mana cap battle with the NOXIOUS FUMES
, SILENCED SUMMONERS
and spotlight ruleset of the week RISE OF THE COMMONS
📌TIPS TO NOTE ABOUT THESE RULESETS:
NOXIOUS FUMES: All Monsters start the battle Poisoned. Higher HP and cleanse are the best choice. However there may be some cases where you go for a big offensive attack and wipe out your opponent before the poison becomes a factor.
RISE OF THE COMMONS: Only Common and Rare Monsters may be used in battles. Make a balanced team. Focus your attacks on a specific opponent's monster.
SILENCED SUMMONERS: Summoners do not give any stat buffs or debuffs or grant/use any abilities. Use a summoner with no abilities to preserve mana.
With Death, and Dragon splinters off the table, the best lineup that came to mind was led by the Mylor Crowling followed closely by Fungus Flinger, Pelacor Mercenary, Venari Marksrat and Failed Summoner from the Earth Splinter Let's dissect this lineup.
⚔️ TEAM LINE-UP & REASONS I ENGAGED THEM IN BATTLE ⚔️
MYLOR CROWLING - SUMMONER
I will start by introducing you to MYLOR CROWLING
, IMO the baddest Dice Earth Summoner in the whole of Splinterlands.
A great summoner with the supernatural ability to grant the Thorns
ability. This ability is so deadly that when monsters with it are attacked by melee attackers, it does damage back to the attacker. The awesome fact about this summoner is that, he gives the thorns ability to all monsters on his team, making them even more fierce.
MYLOR CROWLING is Anti-Melee, hence, he is particularly effective when you envisage your enemy to come at you with Melee Attack. But, considering the second ruleset, he is also very useful in a Healed out ruleset situation as you will want to also deplete the health of your opponent as fast as you can without them being able to Heal.
FUNGUS FLINGER - FRONTIER MARTYR
Positioned in the front, the Fungus Flinger serves as a sacrificial shield. But don't be fooled; its demise can lead to the enemy's downfall.
Martyr
: When the Fungus Flinger falls, adjacent monsters gain +1 to all their stats, making them more formidable.
Blind
: This ability increases the chances of enemy melee and ranged attacks missing their target. With Melee Mayhem in effect, this can be a game-changer.
👉WHY I PICKED FUNGUS FLINGER
I picked FUNGUS FLINGER because of it's Martyr ability which will really prove worthy for PELACOR MERCENARY and the Blind ability is perfect in this Melee assualt battle.
PELACOR MERCENARY - THE AGILE HEALER
PELACOR MERCENARY, when positioned behind the Fungus Flinger, offers both offense and defense.
Flying
: Increases evasion against melee or ranged attacks from grounded monsters. It's especially beneficial in Melee Mayhem, where every monster's attacking.
Heal
: Continuously restores a portion of the monster's health every round, ensuring longer survival against attacks.
This cards attack type is Melee, a Common card and it is part of the Earth unit.
👉WHY I PICKED PELACOR MERCENARY
I picked PELACOR MERCENARY because of his Healing ability which will really prove worthy when peered with MYLOR CROWLING & FUNGUS FLINGER in this ruleset.
VENARI MARKSRAT - THE ACCURATE RANGER
VENARI MARKSRAT lives up-to it's purpose and it also one of the reward cards issued to players. The most wanted neutral follows right behind Pelacor Mercenary.
Martyr
: When the Venari Marksrat falls, adjacent monsters gain +1 to all their stats, making them more formidable.
Snare
: When attacking enemies with Flying, removes the Flying ability and cannot miss.
This cards attack type is Melee, a Rare card and it is part of the Earth unit.
👉WHY I PICKED VENARI MARKSRAT
I picked VENARI MARKSRAT because of his Martyr ability which will really prove worthy to Pelacor Mercenary when he falls.
FAILED SUMMONER - THE STRATEGIST
FAILED SUMMONER might sound deceptive but is a shield wall even at the back He has no attack type, but his speed of +2 and health of +9 will take enemies by surprise.
Magic reflect
: this warrior shines when under magical assault. For every magical strike he receives, he reflects back reduced magic damage, catching many enemies off guard.
Demoralizes
: with his daunting presence, he weakens the melee prowess of all enemy monsters, rendering them less effective in their attacks.
This cards attack type is Melee, a Common card and it is part of the Earth unit.
👉WHY I PICKED FAILED SUMMONER
I picked FAILED SUMMONER because of his Demoralize and Magic reflect ability which will really prove worthy in this ruleset.
Without further ado, let us now enter the battleground and see if my lineup works or not.
⚔️ THE BATTLE ⚔️
- The Enemy came at me with the Death element, ENEMY SUMMONER - KEYLA FRENDUL as Summoner. ENEMY-CRUEL SETHROPOD in first position, ENEMY-KELP INIRIARE in second position, ENEMY-ANGELIC MANDARIN in third position, ENEMY-VENARI MARKSRAT in fourth position, and finally ENEMY-PELACOR BANDIT in last position. My enemy came at me with decent set of cards, so Let's see what happened.
LET'S RUMBLE!!!
At Start of Battle, MYLOR CORWLING and KEYLA FRENDUL are unable to grant them any buff or debuffs as per silenced summoners ruleset.
FUNGUS FLINGER in front becomes target by the enemy, but little do they know, his death is PELACOR MERCENARY'S strength. Soon enough he falls and gives Pelacor doubt stats.
all monsters of the battlefield are poisoned at start of new round and both my VENARI MARKSRAT and enemies dies, but boost Pelacor's and Enemy-mandarin's stats
Missed attacks by the enemy at PELACOR MERCENARY. Poison hits the battlefield and instantly kills FAILED SUMMONER -2❤️
With just PELACOR MERCENARY left, he takes time to regenerate and kills Enemy-KELP INITIATE killing it instantly, and next and deadly slam at Enemy-ANGELIC MANDARIN, killing it too.
FLAWLESS VICTORY
🎉A RECAP OF THE LESSONS LEARNT ON RISE OF THE COMMONS RULESET
In battles with the RISE OF THE COMMONS
ruleset, only Common and Rare Monsters may be used in battles. This allows for players to make a balanced team by focusing their your attacks on a specific enemy's monster. We very well know Splinterlands likes to tease with our minds by complicating the situation with a double or triple ruleset combo, Hence we should focus on the accompanying rulesets and play accordingly.
This ruleset came with a Noxious fumes and Silenced Summoners, hence I decided to make sure I picked monsters that could help boost their teams abilities since only summoners was restricted. I came with a range Martyr in front FUNGUS FLINGER and a high HP and defense Melee attacker in second, PELACOR MERCENARY then followed by another Martyr, VENARI MARKSRAT. Also made sure the Melee offense was a Self heal monster. The Blind ability served as protection against Melee & Ranged invasion, Snare ability holding down flying monsters, and soon when Martyr comes into play, this gave a great boost. In a nutshell, take note of these;
Here's a balanced team and strategy:
✅Tank Monster: Absorb damage and protect the rest of the team.
✅Support Monster: Buff the team and debuff the enemy.
✅Damage Dealer: Inflict maximum damage.
📌Remember to have your Support Monster buff your team's attack and, if possible, debuff the opponent's main threat like what FUNGUS FLINGER did with his Blind ability, FAILED SUMMONER with his Demoralize ability and VENARI MARKSRAT with his Snare ability.
That will be all about my battle with RISE OF THE COMMONS
as focus ruleset Thank you for stopping by😊
