Hi everyone
I've completely lost count of how many times I've heard these lines "adulthood na scam" adulthood is a scam. Do you think our parents would have warned us concerning the difficulties that comes with being an adult.

Growing up we've pictured how our future is going to look like. For instance a typical secondary school student will be like, I'll graduate from secondary school at the age of 16 or more, take jamb ( joint admission and matriculation board) and get admission into his/her preferred institution, graduate at the age of 21 or more, then Nysc(national youth service corp) in a year you're done with service, after that get a good paying job, then get married and have an amazing home, before 30 years you've settled down already.
Well that sounds perfect right, But the reality turns out to be, probably repeating a class in your secondary school or not, so you leave secondary school at your desired age or later. Then you move onto jamb, and you couldn't meet the institution cut off mark which you end up taking it over and over again, at the end you managed to secure admission into your preferred institution, and got a course that is unrelated to your preferred course of study, Nigerian institutions are good at that, during your stay in the university before you'll know it boom asuu(academic staff union of universities) pops up with their annual strike, now a 4 years course might be extended to 5 or 6, then nysc happens you get posted to wherever and one year goes by now you're back home hoping that someday you'll get a job.
For those that does not have a skill, you wouldn't know what to do then, after staying unemployed for some months, you finally get a job, haha then another thing pops up, your workplaces is far from your family house, now you have to start a new phase of life entirely. The responsibility that comes with being an adult is scary, some persons get scared because they have to fend for themselves, take responsibility and decisions for themselves, that they wish they never grew up but its life we all have to grow up.
I don't think anyone has to prepare us in becoming adults, our parents may have tried to teach us based on their own experience years ago, most times they don't need to prepare us ahead because they also figured life out without the support of their own parents.
Adulthood isn't a scam you just have to figure out life, and take the right decisions and responsibility of your life, you decide what happens in your life.
