Dozinky Festival Classic Car Cruise

in #hive-177682last year

Friday evening my Bonnie Bride and I headed over to New Prague, Minnesota, for their annual Dozinky Festival. Although it is a weekend event, we were only able to attend Friday evening for their Classic Car Cruise down Main Street. This Car Cruise is a big deal for car collectors from around the region, and there were a lot of very cool vintage cars, as well as quite a few more modern muscle cars driving down through the center of town. I am by no means any kind of car export, so I may not get all of the vehicles I am sharing images of right, so I’ll stick to a bit of commentary on them.

This was the first car I took a picture of, albeit not the first in the cruise. I am pretty sure that this is a Dodge Roayl sedan.

I have no clue what model this car is, but it is a reall cool vintage car.

Not sure how to describe the color on this pickup, chartreuse maybe? Defintiely pre-1960.

Another truly vintage vehicle, I think, due to the hood ornament, that this must be a Jaguar.

This car appears to be a similar make as the second car in this piece. Kind of makes me think of the kind of car that Bonny and Clyde used. Or maybe the Ant Hill Mob.

I thought I should include at least one shot of a more modern muscle car that appeared in the Classic Car Cruise. It's a pretty vehicle, and i have no idea what the make or model is. However, it is a darn good looking car.

This low-rider style car is aboslutely gorgeous, and the kind of car you would expect to see cruising Main Street on a Saturday night.

This red coupe is another type of car you would exepect to see crusing on a Saturday night.

This one looks like another Dodge Royal.

I really dig these older, vintage cars. If I had the spare bucks to take on an expensive hobby like classic cars, a car like this would be on the list.

That being said, I don't expect to be taking up classic car collecting, even just one such vehicle, anytime in this lifetime. But it sure as heck would be a lot of fun to do so.

I checked with a buddy of ours who lives in New Prague, and he told me that this cruise has a hard cap of 400 vehicles, and this year there was a total of 303 cars, ranging from the '20s to more modern muscle cars, and from sports cars to a few big rig haulers. I had no idea it was that many cars as it went by so fast, it felt more like 200 vehicles. But who's counting, except the people running the event. I think I took pictures of about a quarter of the vehicles in the cruise, and these are some of my favorites.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed these photos.
