It was a sunny saturday morning when Manuel's parents took him for aerobic exercise. Manuel was was delighted to go on this ride with his parents.
On a weekend, young Manuel's father surprised him with a shiny new bicycle for his third birthday. Manuel's eyes widened with excitement as he ran his hands over the smooth frame and tested the grip of the handlebars. He couldn't wait to take it for a spin.
"Are you ready for your first ride, buddy?" Manuel's father asked, smiling down at him.
"Yeah!" Manuel exclaimed, his heart racing with anticipation.
After fitting Manuel with a helmet and giving him some basic instructions, they stepped outside into the crisp air. Manuel's bike gleamed in the sunlight, beckoning him to climb aboard.
With a deep breath, Manuel swung his leg over the seat and settled onto the saddle. His father steadied the bike, holding onto the back of the seat.
"Okay, Manuel, just pedal forward," his father coached.
With a wobble and a giggle, Manuel pushed off. The feeling of the wind rushing past him and the freedom of movement filled him with joy. He pedaled faster, his father's hand a reassuring presence at his back.
"Look ahead, Manuel, keep your eyes on where you're going," his father advised.
Manuel focused on the path ahead, his determination growing with each pedal stroke. He wobbled less and less, gaining confidence with every passing moment.
"You're doing great, Manuel!" his father encouraged.
Manuel beamed with pride as he navigated the sidewalk, his father jogging alongside him, ready to catch him if he stumbled. But Manuel didn't stumble. He was riding on his own.
As they circled back towards home, Manuel's smile widened. He felt like he was flying, like nothing could stop him. The world seemed brighter, bigger, and full of endless possibilities.
