Today was quite a busy day and I would love to talk about it. We had our school's market survey today.
As fashion students, the aim for the market survey is to find places with cheaper rates for tailoring materials and other sewing related items.
I left home at about 7am but when I got to school, it was about 8:45am and the time of our departure the market was by 9am.
I had fifteen minutes to catch my breath which I did with something light.
Other students delayed us a bit as we had to wait for them. We left school twenty minutes past nine and it was such a fun ride with fellow desogbers. Many people talked about the styles they had in mind to make, while others talked about random things.
We got stuck in traffic at point and I even slept off on the bus but as soon as we got to the market I felt excited.
We walked around the market first just to find the easiest route to the market gate as it was a very big one.
Now time to purchase lots of item arrived. The first we got to brought out some crepe materials and then our tutors asked us to pick different colors of our choice which we would be used to make a dart manipulation dress.
Many of us had a hard time here figuring that out and as soon as we were done, our tutors took us to a particular store where they sell all kinds of lace.
We were shown dry lace, sugar lace, sample lace, beaded lace and so many others.
Our project for next week is streetweer which include a bomber jacket, hoodie, joggers, cargo pants and the likes.
Our tutors took us to the part of the market where we can also get the fabric for the streetwear.
At about 3pm we were feeling so hungry, so we dashed into a mini eatery inside the market and got ourselves some snacks and soft drinks.
It took us another thirty minutes to catch our breath before we headed to another part of the market where we purchased the fabric for a body suit and twist dress.
The mwrket survey was like an eye opener for everyone who went and it was such a fun activity too.
Our tutors did a good job in the process bargain aspect. We got all of the fabric at a very cheap rate and everyone was happy.
At about 5pm, we left the market for home but got stuck in traffic again on our way home.
My fellow designers made it a fun trip as they sang along and did so many fun things to distract us from the heavy traffic.
Unfortunately, I began to feel uneasy when I realized I would arrive home pretty late. At that point, I wished something could be done so that I'll get home earlier.
I stopped vibing to the music and couldn't take my eyes off my wrist watch.
At exactly 9:45pm I got to my bus stop, I boarded a commercial bike to my house and that was how I spent my day.
Images used belong to me.
