Alumni Party Responder For A Day

Hello, once again lovely Hivers!

Here I am with another set of duty as a school-based medical responder. Since that's all I'm mostly doing these days, let me share my experiences as I'm striving in that field. It's quite exhausting but it was fun when you're passionate in whatever you do.

Given that this was an Alumni Party, most of the attendees are middle-aged people and few are also in their golden age. It's not our wish that something might happen within the vicinity but for safety precautions, we were there on lookout so they could enjoy their party safely.

The theme for this year is Retro.

The participants in each batch of alumni dressed in Retro as they reminisced the unforgettable memories they have way back in 2005. Their party started in festive parade with colorful confetti to welcome the guests, sponsors and all of the alumni present in the event.

As we stood by for duty, we saw lots of high profile personalities here. Some of them are politicians and principals of different schools around here in Bacolod. We even spotted some of the Professors in our campus attending the party and we're surprised to know that they have graduated here long ago.

A few remarks was heard from the President of the Alumni Association, College Administrator, and a Councilor of the City before the entertainment starts. Then, they performed intermission numbers and there was also a pageant. The host also had a gimmick for the guests and attendees wherein they had installed a photobooth which was free for everyone to try.

Groups and individuals queued to have their photos taken at the booth. I got mine as well and we have shot for them which was divided into two -boys and girls. We display the photo at the office after that and I brought mine home.

I think we have enjoyed this party more than the attendees. We had fun hopping from different batch where we have acquaintances, and they gave us foods to share. We also have conversations with them in which we have shared our passion as student volunteers. One lucky moment, when we had an opportunity to talk with the Councilor, he was fascinated by our drive and referred us to send a letter at Bacolod's New Government Center to apply for an allowance. It gives us hope since pursuing this passion is surely expensive and time-consuming, at least our efforts could be compensated somehow.

The party mostly was catching up with the groups and enjoying the foods. Even us had a feast when our college administrator told us to eat instead of deploying ourselves solely on our posts. At the end of the party, there were no any incidents that happened and the party ended at 5pm where everyone left the venue safely.

Two more years to go, and I could imagine myself attending parties like this. Reuniting with friends that we haven't seen for so long from prioritizing our adult life and sacrificing fun. Anyway, I'm always rooting for everybody's success that by the time we gathered together next time, there would be none who will be left behind.

Thanks for reading another blog from me!

Ohooo, alumni party, for sure talaga daming naganap na pagbabalik tanaw sa nakaraan, in their batch. Masaya din umattend ng ganito coz daming foods, lol. Anyways, seema like you all got busy in there too. And at least, kahit tiring, you still enjoy it. And that's the mahalagang important.

I can imagine how exhausting it must be to be on duty for such a long time, but it's clear that you enjoyed the party and the interactions with the attendees. I'm sure your presence made a big difference in ensuring everyone's safety.
