After 6 days of not really eating for my son who was dealing with his mysterious monthly minor bowel obstruction, finally he is back to drinking and eating minimally. Things and schedules at home has not gone back to normal full fledge but I gave thanks the pain was over. Phew!!! What a week since last Wednesday!
Some daily shenanigans
I had some food in the house for convenience sake past few days. Today, I had done cooking two big batch of bolognese and carbonara sauce for coming days, maybe I will blog on it, see how... But yup, thankful for food on the table, especially packed food or eating out.
Breakfast
Coffee, doughnut and egg tart
Brother was on public holiday on Monday, so he dropped by to visit, bringing along his bubbly mischievous daughter. Hehe. Bonus was he packed coffee for me, doughnut for my son and a tart for me (because I told him I had taken my breakfast and was very full). So glad to finally tasted the coffee from a famous restaurant called Thong Kee. The doughnut was so soft, unfortunately, my son only able to take two small bites, the rest ended up in my tummy. And the egg tart was really delicious.
Lunch
Kuching laksa
For yesterday, I challenged my youngest son to go out with me after 6 days of less walking. He felt weird at his muscles, so I guessed it was a good walk. He still felt weak due to less food but the walk was needed to kick start the system. We went to a corner nearby our house so that I could get my cravings satisfied. Ordered this Kuching laksa — a curry soup-based rice vermicelli — a comfort food for me, coupled with iced coffee.
Flat bread and honey chicken
Then, we walked to another nearby 'mamak' to pack food for my eldest son. I packed for him double egg cheese 'roti', a type of flat Indian bread, and also one honey chicken 'mamak' style.
Dinner!
Pizza
For dinner, I wanted to reward my eldest son for being a great help, taking care of the brother while I was at tuition which was an impromptu replacement class requested by the student's mother, I ordered a Hawaiian pizza for him. He was soooo happyyy!!!
I skipped my dinner first because I knew I would be having late dinner with my husband who came back from Macau yesterday night.
Nasi Lemak
After 6 days at Macau, the first thing my husband was craving was 'nasi lemak', fragrant rice cooked with coconut milk, topped with 'sambal', roasted peanut and cucumbers and you got to choose your side dish. My husband chose beef rendang and squid sambal and an egg. As for me, I also ate nasi lemak with beef rendang and egg. We both had milk tea. What a good way to catch up after 6 days didn't see each other. We were at the stall from 9:45pm till 10:45pm. Time to go home.
It is certainly time for us to regain strength after some movement and arrangement at home due to youngest son's complications as well as husband at Macau for 6 days. It was so coincident when he was away and my son was not well. Still gave thanks for strength and also family around who helped when I needed help.
Portuguese egg tarts
These are all the way from Macau. Goodies from husband. Yayyyy! Super delicious!!!
